I know people noticed the Blink 182 melody in the first verse of Pacific Ocean, but can anyone pinpoint what the melody of the second verse is? I swear it's a possibly intentional use of an old melody from some hit song but can't place it
I started following the band account when you posted this, and saw the first single is out, good stuff!
my man. thanks so much for giving it a spin. video premiere just dropped on the main page on here as well.
I'm a sucker for gruff emo vocals but it's almost a relief to hear something clean. Really dig it, hope to get to hear the rest!
Really excited for this album. Haven't listened to any of the singles besides the first one, but based on the reactions this is gonna be great.
Remember back when AJ leaked a song in the thread? He’d probably leak the whole album if it wasn’t for all them hat jokes. Smh Lol
And the hat bullying worked! I haven’t seen him wearing it in a minute even though you just KNOW he feels incomplete without it.
Nope. I like to think we left it behind in the Coming Home era. Even if he start's walking around in a spacesuit all the time for the Gravity era, that would be an improvement.
Having advances contingent on guaranteeing coverage/an interview will forever turn me off. (So I turned it down). But then the advance finally coming and being a 160 kbps stream is just a kick in the nards. The stream sounds so, so, so bad. I .. am not really vibing it so far. I liked Coming Home way more on first listen. It sounding like it was recorded in a tin can isn't helping. Think I'll just wait for the release date and hope it sounds better.
Who is still making the decision to go for shitty quality streams? Is this a publicist's error? If so, that person should not have a job! Such a disservice to your artists to not present the music in the best way possible. I think the songs so far sound pretty good in full quality, so I'm guessing a lot of the issue here is the stream quality.
Streams always seem to sound worse than their supposed bitrate, too. Not sure why. I've had 160kbps streams that sounded like 96kbps.
Exactly! It’s so painful. And why do that? It only hurts the product! Only makes it sound legit bad to the people maybe reviewing it. “Wild One” was a standout on my one listen. Album still sits more in the mid tempo than I think people wanted. But some cool stuff.
How different PR firms handle advances really runs the gamut. Sometimes, it's the shittiest quality stream you've ever heard, and to add insult to injury, it's through some clunky streaming platform that looks like it was designed in 2003 and doesn't work at all. But just as often, I'll get a zip folder with high-quality WAV files. So weird that there's no accepted "this is the way it's done" approach.
I’m surprised labels even do streams anymore, just send .wavs leaks are such a non factor in the streaming era half of gen z and all of gen alpha barely know how to use a computer let alone torrent or file share
"you're listening to a vagrant records promotional stream" sound be imprinted into all advance streams, even if its not on vagrant
