No album with songs like "Catholic Girls" or "Infinite" on them should make you want to give up on a band
1. Mother Nature 2. War Paint 3. Reach For The Sun 4. All That is Left of the Blue Sky 5. Self-Titled 6. Golden Record. 7. If Only You Could Keep Me Alive
Most days I think Catholic Girls and Infinite are their best songs. Where I want to be and starting over up there as well
Mother Nature Reach for the Sun War Paint Self Titled If Only You Could Keep Me Alive All That’s Left Golden Record
The self-titled is honestly extremely solid. Obviously it’ll never be in their top 3 but it’s still a great entry in their catalog. - Mother Nature - RFTS - War Paint - Self Titled - Golden Record RFTS means so much to me but MN is my first album I’m reaching for currently as I rank these today.
The lyrics on War Paint just put it above everything else. Reach for the Sun definitely has its moments too, but the entirety of WP is just next tier.
Mother Nature Reach for the Sun Warpaint Golden Record All That’s Left Self titled If Only Warpaint and Reach could switch on any given day
1. War Paint 2. RFTS big gap 3. Mother Nature 4. IYCOKMA (this is higher than it should be because Disconnect is one of my favorite songs of all time) 5. Golden Record 6. Self Titled (Infinite and Color are two of my favorite songs in their discog but the rest of that record does nothing for me)
Miles Apart is great too, never understood the hate for Golden Record. RFTS Mother Nature Golden Record War Paint Self Titled IYCOKMA ATILOTBS
Golden Record also has Ben's best drumming and drum sound. Holy shit does the kit sound good. Listen to the complete song here (drowning) if ya haven't heard it in a while fam, the drums at the end are nuts
TDS is one of my favorites right now so why not. Definitely check out their post-hiatus work. 1. Mother Nature 2. Reach for the Sun 3. Self Titled 4. War Paint 5. All That is Left of the Blue Sky 5. Golden Record 6. If You Could Only...
1. Reach for the Sun 2. War Paint 3. Mother Nature 4. Self Titled huge gap 5. Golden Record First 3 are really the only ones I go back to often. I can never shake reading AJ do an interview where he wanted to sound like LJG in Against Me! for his performance on Golden Record. That was... a bad idea.
1 - War Paint 2 - Mother Nature 3 - Reach For the Sun 4 - All That Is Left Of The Blue Sky 5 - Golden Record gap 6 - Self Titled 7 - If You Could Only Keep Me Alive
TDS is one of the weird/unique bands for me where I found them just before Golden Record came out and became obsessed with the first two albums and they happened to come along with me on a trip across the country so a lot of great memories are connected to those albums, on top of those being very fun and great albums. But after that I didn’t really connect with Golden Record outside of 2-3 songs and then I completely forgot about this band / disconnected from them. Tried to get back into them when they came back but likely didn’t give any of the albums time to sink in. Maybe I’ll do a discography run before the new album comes out and see if anything connects with me this time around but right now this is a band where I love two of their albums and have no idea what else / how much else they’ve even released.
I have a similar feel…but I didn’t connect with War Paint either. LOVED Reach for the sun, can’t really gel with the rest. The drums on reach for the sun are great and then it got a little too “straightforward” after
Right? What kind of lyric could be so controversial? Looking forward to the album but I’ll be paying attention for this.
