The Dangerous Summer – “Fire”

Doesn't do anything for me.

 

Song is pretty good. Great to have them back. Even better to have them back Cody-less.

 

The song is definitely a slow burn, no pun intended lol

 

Not a step forward by any means, more of a continuation, which is okay I suppose? I think this band can do and has done better though, and I look forward to hearing more.

 

I think it's a step up from Golden Record easily.

 

Not that that was hard to do. Heh.

 

decent-I feel the hook could be stronger

 

I consider War Paint their best or their peak, and I’m not sure they’ll ever be able to top that. This is certainly a better direction than Golden Record though.

 

Not my favorite off of the album, but I love the video. This whole album is a huge step forward from Golden Record, y'all prepare yourselves.

 

That didn't really do much for me. Thought it was bland.

 

This is fantastic. Really looking forward to the new album.

Don’t think they’ll be able to touch RFTS or War Paint, so setting that expectation is unrealistic. I liked this one as a reintroduction to TDS.

Sounds a lot like Have Mercy IMO. Which isn’t a bad thing to me.

 

You'd think a song called "Fire" would have more ... fire.

If you're referring to "about as dull and forgettable as the band Lit" — I would agree.

 

really i just wanted to mock the term lit, and also make a cheesy pun since it's called fire. and use the fire emoji.

but for real, i do like this song, and i think you are undervaluing at least 3 lit songs, for sure.

 

I liked this a lot stoked for the album!

That lead riff in the first verse is tasty.

 

Wait, people don't like Golden Record? I like the majority of it better than this, at least based off one listen.

Song is OK. Record hopefully has better songs than this one.

Good to have them back though especially without Cody.

 

i'm not in a place anymore where their work hits me like it used to, even rfts/wp nostalgically, but musically i'm still digging this.
