I feel like this show oscillates between the Safdie's movies and Nathan's shows and I obviously enjoy when it leans towards the latter more, like the Gatorade scene or Love to the Third Degree. That said there are moments when it strikes a fine balance like Nathan in the ATM which is when it's the most watchable for me.
Gatorade office scene was so fucking funny lol like its perfect and exactly like id imagine Nathan pulling a heist to look like I love this show. It's a perfect vibe. Give Emma Stone all the awards. She couldn't be playing this role any more perfectly.
I wondering why this show's audience scores were so low compared to it's mostly positive critical reviews, I was almost wondering if this got reviewbombed for some reason, and then I actually read the audience reviews and the majority of them are like " I checked this out because I love Emma Stone, but it was so boring, weird, and awkward. Why would she agree to do this? What is this show even about?" lol
Media literacy is at an all-time low these days. Sadly a lot of people feel they need to be spoon-fed everything or else it’s not worth the effort
The themes are not very accesible I'd say. Passive homes, property development, real estate investments, gaming control board. Not to non-US audiences at least. It's all easier to grasp under the umbrella of making the reality show I guess.
lol the Instagram account is real and has a post from last year with comments about Doug Aiken. I wonder what the else is out of there. https://instagram.com/espanolapassiveliving?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg==
This ep was a little slower, but payoff with the missing chicken is great. Also the Instagram stuff at the end was so uncomfortable. Fielder had some acting chops during that argument.
Yeah I was gonna point out that same scene, a nice reminder that Whitney is just as unhinged as the other two I wonder if Safdie will start having more screentime
These last two episodes have gotten by on vibes for me, but it is starting to spin its wheels a bit. Need a bigger development in the next episode. This one was really slow. "Minnesota" got a good laugh out of me though
I'd keep watching indefinitely just to see Nathan on screen but agree. I thought we were going to get something when Dougie started talking about how he too was cursed but that didn't really seem to turn out to anything of real substance.
Yeah it’s been a lot of slow buildup. They’ll have to really nail the landing but I still have faith.
I got halfway into episode 2 and the breathalyzer scene made me turn off the TV The Office ain't got shit on this. All hail the god emperor of uncomfortable TV
I actually laughed at this episode quite a bit, especially Nathan's turn at the comedy workshop being met with dead silence lmao I still find myself the most fascinated when Safdie is onscreen, I'm really curious where they're going with his character
VERY good episode. I feel like shit lmao. So tense. No huge development like I was hoping, but some genuinely unsettling and funny stuff. The shot of the guy watching TV while they talk outside was terrifying. Nathan's notes app list of jokes for the show and the "Stand By Me" moment both got huge laughs out of me.
