I'm not an expert on these guys in the slightest, but what are the chances we actually get to hear this follow up album that he's mentioned a few times now at some point...?
Sorry but this is incredibly reductive and offensive, this is a band who toiled for years and got fucking nowhere in spite of a devoted fanbase, with their fourth album set to be their last before Robert Smith and the band took a chance on them and they connected on the kind of stages they deserved to be playing. They got where they are because of the work they put in and not because of The Cure's personal preferences.
When I saw The Twilight Sad open for The Cure a couple years ago, I was kinda blown away by them. Such a great band.
Twilight Sad covered a Frightened Rabbit song when I saw them open for The Cure in 2023, which was awesome.
I hope you mean The Twilight Sad because it is SO overdue. Strangely, they played it the most with Grant in the band whilst supporting The Cure. When they played full band recently supporting Mogwai, Grant wasn't on drums again so not really sure what's happening with their line-up again.
