I have some major issues with De Palma, but I also think Phantom of the Paradise fits the bill for quite a few reasons. It’s certainly more straight up cult than some of what we’ve talked about, lol.

I always think about 'Wake in Fright' when I think about cult classics

Ooh murder party rules, it’s my favorite of all his “normal people who are terrible at murder” movies. Phantom of the Paradise is the most “cult” movie I’ve ever seen, it’s completely insane. Cult horror is like one of my favorite things, so I can contribute a lot to that side of the discussion, but I’m excited to watch the others, this thread rules.

Yeah, the only problem with Phantom is I have no idea if it’s streaming anywhere for people to watch together. I know I had to splurge on a DVD years ago just to have access.

Yeah, my copy was *sure* not cheap, that probably isn’t doable. My suggestions personally would be

    Brain Damage
    The Beyond
    The Sentinel
    Troll 2
    Demons
    House (1977)
    Inland Empire
    Slither
    The Dark Crystal
    Scanners

I know a couple of those are streaming, brain damage, Demons and The Beyond are all on Shudder and House is a Criterion. I’ve got more, but a lot of them are super gory or fucked up or impossible to find, so I figured I’d save those for the horror thread lol

I’m down for pretty much anything on that list. I watch Troll 2 start to finish more than is probably healthy.

Because I suck I haven't watched Eraserhead yet, but I'm gonna catch up on it and Clue this week. I did watch Murder Party because I mentioned it to a friend and he then forced it upon me. It was great though.
