Isn’t that basically how most things that were in development hell go? Lol

 

I was interested when Corin Hardy was signed up to direct with Jason Mamoa starring but I was hoping it was gonna be one of those remakes that would suprise people in a good way.. oh well I still have the original though.

 

I think it was always doomed unfortunately. I feel like it’s just genuinely cursed.

 

No shocker, but this is bad; FKA Twigs was kind of painful, IMO, but the writing, dialogue, and takes suffered throughout with other actors/characters. Interesting and bad needle drops and some cool gore with a couple of fun sequences. Would’ve been interesting to see what this or any remake would’ve been like in better hands. Anyway, I cannot wait to rewatch the OG soon.

 

He had me so disappointed in the first half. Lol

I have seen ads on buses where i live in England but no other promotional material like TV spots or anything

Notice how the reception gets worse the more the protagonist resembles a member of KISS.

My god. I had heard this was bad, but man this is absolutely abysmal. Not a single thing works, the acting is painful across the board and a lot of it is boring as shit, not to mention it just plain looks bad. Also the love story that this all hinges on isn't believable in the slightest.

Going to rewatch the original to wash the taste of this out of my mouth now.

Just watched this.

I thought Bill did as good as he could with what he was handed, the gore/fight scenes were really cool, and I actually dug most of the music.

But damn (big sigh)......There was zero viewer/character connection, half-assed/zero character arches, zero backstory about the villains, almost no significance about the legend of 'the crow', and absolutely zero excitement that some immortal dude out for revenge on the streets causing a ruckus for the police and bad guys.

Anyways, check out this fan made movie out. Better than I thought it'd be and it actually takes place around halloween haha.
