i'd usually continue to bank them, but they've started putting expiration dates on the codes they send CC subscribers, so maybe i'll have to spend mine soon. just not today
Dammit was hoping to get Pee Wee's Big Adventure half-off but I guess you can't do 50% off on pre-orders
Seriously though, great purchase! Hopefully I can get my hands on a copy in the future, it’s such a cool set.
Oh word? I didn’t hear about that, that’s a bummer. Just wait a couple weeks for the B&N sale, they do pre-orders too iirc.
they started it back in March, i think? it varies as to their exact expiration date. the first one i got this year was set to expire a year later, while the CC Anniversary code i got in April was set to expire on Halloween, and the latest expires in March 2026. i suspect it might've been implemented when the company was sold to Steven Rales/Indian Paintbrush, but i can't say for sure. sucks either way since i banked a couple years of codes in the past to fill in my Lynch collection.
the only one I had with an expiration was my latest anniversary one, which expires end of this month. although it doesn't list an expiration when you enter the code, and it appeared to hold it in your account the same as previous codes.
Btw, I recently weeded out my collection. Would anyone want to buy these blu-rays for $15 shipped each? History is Made at Night Hollywood Shuffle Punch-Drunk Love Secrets & Lies The Wages of Fear
Just bought a new PC so I can’t justify spending money on this sale unfortunately. Didn’t stop me from looking over the site for a while.
It earned me a $50 reward which I used for the stand alone French Dispatch and Isle of Dogs. Because I’m a mark.
Yeah, going to hold off for now, at least until EWS drops. Nothing I need aside from The Shrouds in the meantime. Would love a copy of Altered States as well, but I just purchased digitally not long before the Criterion announcement was made, and I don't feel like double-dipping just yet. Will probably grab all three in one fell-swoop during the next sale. A History of Violence would be nice to have, too.
Yeah, I’m waiting for the B&N sale myself since this recent sale was inbetween paychecks and I couldn’t get anything lol
snagged the bruce lee set and spinal tap during the sale, will prob go a bit easy during the barnes sale next month outside of a couple of must buys
Wong Kar Wai's Blossoms Shanghai series will finally premiere on the Criterion Channel starting on 11/24 at 8 PM ET. three episodes every Monday until the end of January (to make it through all 30 episodes).
supposedly Janus resecured distribution rights for The Elephant Man in the US, meaning Criterion will probably reprint it here soon after it being out of print for a while now, potentially in 4K as well.
