Does anyone use FilmStruck, the Criterion associated thing? Filmstruck

I can't seem to work out what they're actually showing, and based on that, whether it's worth signing up? Am I just missing a dumb click somewhere, or can you genuinely not see what is showing without signing up?

 

I got The Breakfast Club and Election

 

having a lot of trouble narrowing down my list. have it down to the american friend, badlands, che, dazed and confused, easy rider, fantastic mr fox, the graduate, nashville and thief, all of which are a mix of movies i either love or have been dying to see. would ideally like to get it down to 4-5. please help.

All amazing. Have Nashville but havent watched it. What haven’t you seen? Dazed is my favorite of all time and the Thief disc is great.

 

Wish I had money right now, been dying to get Fire Walk With Me and Night of the Living Dead.

Today is Mardi Gras. Why would you want to revive a months-old conversation about a cheesy 80s movie? At least say something interesting than some dumb attempt at snark.

 

Can’t imagine how Tetra celebrates Mardi Gras

 

I am a little drunk and just got back to the hotel. Beads hit me in the face.

 

Spent too much money but I got Punch Drunk Love, Silence of the Lambs, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and It Happened One Night.

 

PTA needs to do more of these. Would love one for The Master and TWBB. Also I think the packaging/inserts for a CC edition of Inherent Vice would probably be really cool.

 

While I get why someone would want those, they already have adequate blu-ray releases. Criterion's resources are better served bringing films unavailable on HD to blu-ray or shining a light on underseen works (see: the World Cinema Project).

 

it's not really his choice, but he did say in a recent interview that he hopes to have more of his films in the collection in the future. it'll happen. just gotta be patient

 

I didn't mean it was his fault or choice, just that I'd like more of them done generally. I'm aware he said in a recent AMA that he would like to do more.
