Looks like Filmstruck is up and running. $6.99/mo for just Filmstruck, $10.99/mo for Filmstruck and Criterion, or a $99 annual price, which averages to I think $8.25/mo. Thinking I'll do that one.
Punch Drunk Love came out today and I just bought and rewatched it. Honestly this was the best viewing yet. This is a top 5 all timer for me.
Re: Before Trilogy; Amazon has it listed at $40 right now whereas Criterion has it at $80. Might want to order fast in case it's a mistake.
Good tip! It still works out to $70 for me after exchange but that's best day of price I could imagine.
Finally picked up Phoenix today during Boxing Day sales. Wanted to get My Winnipeg but it was still $40 after discount. Also grabbed the non-Criterion Jauja, Stray Dogs and Arabian Nights.
I highly recommend checking out the release of The Trees of Wooden Clogs. My record shop had a copy of the blu out 8 days early when I was there yesterday so I picked it up. It's up there with A Brighter Summer Day and Marketa Lazarova as one of Criterion's best efforts to reintroduce a forgetten/neglected masterpiece. Really good introduction from Mike Leigh on it too.
Can't wait for The Before Trilogy. Recently got Days of Heaven, Mulholland Dr., Punch Drunk Love, and Darjeeling Limited on Criterion
I'm definitely getting The Before Trilogy. I'd also like to pick up Pan's Labyrinth at some point. Your recent buys are on point though
I own Darjeeling Limited Criterion, and it's one of my favorites. Obviously their transfers are top notch, this is impeccable.
