McDonald’s black coffee is actually pretty good. I like their iced coffee and their cold brew. But I can only get it black. The coffee drinks are way too sugary otherwise
i was scoping out the local menu and there doesn’t appear to be cold brew near me. iced coffee though. might have to try it
I’m normally a cold brew/latte person when I’m not drinking black coffee, but in the airport the other day I was in a hurry and hungry, so I got breakfast and flavored iced coffee from Chick-fil-A, and my goodness, that was unbearably sugary.
when black, for sure. with cream and sugar i give the slight edge to cold brew. flash brew ice coffee is killer
Nah, cold brew is really good. I make my own in the summertime and drink it black. The only cold drink I like with any consistency when I’m out and about is Starbucks vanilla sweet cream cold brew. Been my go to from them for years. I only get it a few times a year these days, but it still hits when I do get it.
Yeah cold brew is my favorite coffee, period. I have one of those big, one-gallon cold brew jars. I make a big batch every weekend so I have enough to bring to work with me during the week I also have a smaller-size one that I use to make batches of decaf cold brew so I can have some at night too!
I prefer iced these days but regularly have homemade cold brew concentrate on hand for when I don’t have time for an iced pourover. It’s easy for me to overdo it on cold brew and that caffeine catches up to me and spikes my anxiety levels.
In Massachusetts, I will gladly grab a $1 iced coffee on hot days, and during the winter, sure, Ill graba $1 hot coffee (both black). Im not picky though, as I will pay less for the cofee, then go to starbucks or dunkins, if alone. My youngest will stop and mcds for $1 coffee though, as shes cheap :)
I'm still cold brew over everything else tbh. I can make my crappy/cheap grocery store coffee taste pretty dang good with barely any effort. Key ingredient for me is half a stick of good cinnamon while it steeps overnight.
Just started making pour over’s again. Hit the bloom my first try after not doing it for like 5 years and was like “STILL GOT IT BABY”
Can’t remember but it’s either Arrival by Black Elm in Hendersonville, TN or Sunflower espresso from 8th and Roast in Nashville, TN
word! both of those shops have anaerobic offerings that i bet are super funky. the ethiopia ardi from 8th sounds solid, too. blue raspberry slushy, i bet that coffee is W I L D!!
I used to be a French press on weekends kind of person and while I still think that’s the superior brewing method, I’ve been using a Bialetti Brikka (variation of a Moka pot that’s supposed to produce a slight amount of crema, with varying success) for the past eight months. I find it such a pleasant experience, from the gurgle, to the smell, to the deliciously bitter flavor of the coffee it produces.
too many fines when brewing with the french press. i much prefer the clean cup one gets with a v60. brikka sounds dope. i’ve wanted a moka for awhile. if i hit the lottery, definitely getting a home espresso machine.
