I was just thinking of them the other day after not being able to find the old Ascend the Hill albums I'd downloaded years ago. I stupidly converted the files to a lower bitrate back then and can't find the original zips to bring them back up.
I go through time where it really hits. Newsboy worship albums were pretty great. Man, I miss Peter Furler...
Left Newsboys on a high, did one solo album, one Christmas album, and then disappeared. Looks like he still tours. But guy was such a great songerwriter. Newsboys had an untouchable run for me, where everything was just so good. Feel like no one has come close to that.
Was just thinking about Entertaining Angels the other day. Man oh man did that song wallop me back in youth group
I inexplicably decided yesterday was a good day to revisit Switchfoot's "Learning to Breathe" for the first time in probably 10+ years. It was a very good decision!
I don’t many people remember the band The Glorious Unseen but the amount of times I get their first album stuck in my head is insane!
Anyone know what happened with the self-titled Kings K album that was supposed to drop last Friday? I've poked around and haven't seen an update anywhere, apart from the new song they put out last month.
They posted one or two instagram stories about that—basically it wasn't quite done and so they pushed it back (no new date).
That album it's very special to me,"Close to my heart" almost brings me to tears every time I listen to it! Anyone remember "The Send"? I've been listening to "Cosmos" the other day, such a great album! Wonder what happened to Joseph Kisselburgh. This Beautiful Republic was another band that has a special place in my heart, but they dissappear after singer Ben Olin left.
I never really really got into Switchfoot. But that album and the one after were just great. Have a soft spot for both.
New single and album announcement from Off Road Minivan. Probably my favorite newer Tooth and Nail signing. Their last album is so good, reminds me of Further Seems Forever a lot especially Hide Nothing era.
I put out a new record today. It's an album of lament basically journaling through the loss of my mom last year. It's lo-fi and probably a hair too long, but I hope someone here finds something of benefit. (Album will be on streaming platforms next week)
Another throwback band I've missed: The Evan Anthem. I still listen to their last album Sens regularly. Still holds up well and should have had more attention. Definitely a band that just suddenly disappeared
I loved this band. Forget about them, but when I remember and revisit it's a lovely listen. Sens is excellent.
