You’ll always find mewithoutYou somewhere among the flowers. They’re not hugely obvious references, just little nods that I will know and appreciate. Love that you have said that as that’s exactly the person and situation we hope this book will speak to. Thanks for the encouragement.
Labeled podcast has Neil and David from Side Walk Slam and Run Kid Run this week. Can't wait to listen. Side Walk Slam was HUGE for me and I also loved Run Kid Run and wish they got bigger. Their last album Patterns felt like it was the one to help them blow up, but alas.
SWS was too late to hit it big, I think. Too long after MXPX to hit it, I think. But man, Run Kid Run was right there with the pop-punk scene and they were so solid haha. I think Matt Thiessen from Relient K co-produced and wrote some of their last record. It rocks.
Side Walk Slam was my “first” band. My brother was hugely into MxPx and I liked them but felt it was uncool to like the same thing. You can definitely see the change coming with “…and we drive” with tighter song writing with RKR. I really liked that first RKR record even though I never cared really for more CCM tinged alternative music. Listening back to that first RKR they did play pretty fast and could have slowed down some of the songs haha
New John Van Deusen songs are so good. He’s becoming a new favorite artis of mine over the last couple of months.
Easily my most anticipated album of the year. I listened to the first 2 songs he released and I'm just holding off for now. It's also 1 dollar to pre-order today for Bandcamp friday! (I Am) Origami Pt. 4 - Marathon Daze, by John Van Deusen
Finally giving JVD a listen and his new album is fantastic. Going to spend the day going through all the Origami albums
Was it this? John Mayer at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys (Toiyabe National Forest, Stateline) on 13 Jul 2004 | Last.fm
No it would have been in the Seattle area. She also thought relient K was the opener. relient K and switchfoot make sense together but not all three acts
One of my favorite tours ever was that Appetite for Construction tour with the two of them. Man, that feels like forever ago now.
New BTA song is great! Man I missed these guys. Reminded me that Jason has Death Therapy which is also quite good.
