Hey friends, I just dropped an Indiegogo campaign for my 2nd record. Recording it with Asher Peterson in Nashville, TN this August. Check it out if you're down and consider supporting. To give an idea of the sound, it's gonna be a folk record with bursts of expansive indie rock. The quieter moments are heavily inspired by Andrew Peterson, Sufjan Stevens, and Phoebe Bridgers, with the louder moments in between leaning more into the territory of bands like The War on Drugs, The Killers, and Anberlin. Then beneath it all is going to be some ambient electronic touches in the vein Bon Iver and M83 that will occasionally rise to the surface. I know that's a lot, but the goal is for it to be a fluid listen front to back. It's not recorded yet, but the whole thing is written. I'm already super proud of these songs and Asher is a heck of a producer, so I'm really, really stoked for some of you to hear it. Shelterheart - An Album by Benjamin Daniel
Been really enjoying Kings Kaleidoscope lately. Never got huge into them, but definitely hitting the spot now. Love his voice.
Agreed! Been enjoying their live videos a ton today with my son. Such a great live band, so much energy!
Yeah! My daughter loves watching the Defender video with the double drum kit and the Alive video with the rappers. It’s all great.
Late pass but this EP by the Arcadian Wild telling the creation story is probably my favorite Christian-adjacent music to have come out in the past year or two (especially the last two songs)
Hey guys. I have a couple days left in the indiegogo campaign for my record. If y’all want to spare a dime, that’d be awesome. Trailer below with a snippet of a song so you know what you’re asking for! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1175523426261040&id=344463892700335
"God died/he went to the ground/it was the only way out" What a good line. Excited to hear this when it comes out!
Thank you! I hope the whole record hits lyrically. I’m very proud of it and excited to hear what people think.
So stoked to see that Valleyheart signed to Tooth and Nail. After they got dropped by Rise it just seemed like a perfect match. So glad to see T&N being able to stay in business especially after the years where they weren’t doing many signings/weren’t doing too well after their big artists left
Still remember begging my mom to go to Family Christian Bookstores so I could scope out their T&N/SS cd section.
I really enjoy a lot of their newer signings. Never heard of Valleyheart but listening now and it's pretty great. Off Road Minivan was such a sleeper hit for me, I return to it a ton.
I was reminded today of how many good albums Come&Live put out. What's everyone's favorite? Pretty sure it's Songs in Secret by Great Awakening for me.
That is a hard question. One I can’t answer easily: probably any of the three Ascend the Hill albums, The Ember Day’s Fingerpainting EP or Holding Onto Hope’s Of The Sea. I agree that Songs In Secret is quality too.
Man, I think I've only heard a handful of these. Would probably pick one of the Showbread albums, most likely Who Can Know It?
Seasons by Levi the Poet is one of my favorite albums. Holding Onto Hope's self-titled is great too. Skeleton Key by The Frozen Ocean is an underrated one. Also, seriously getting into Rivers & Robots but can't remember if I've heard that specific record yet.
