I love hearing Great I Your Mercy sung over and over in a million billion ways. Inject that content into my veins.
I really liked the first few tracks on the EISM album but the rest of it kind of merged together. The lyrics didn't really stand out which is a shame for a Shane Oschner album. Ps. Apollo and Influence (the first two tracks) are basically perfect.
They're a pretty recent signing to Facedown Records, but definitely on the softer side for that label. They have gone really under the radar. Here's another new one. I think this album is going to be special.
Copperlily (Tim Skipper from House of Heroes and his wife Stephanie) just put out a new EP. I like this direction for them a lot, and it's good to hear Tim singing again! Stephanie put out a long blog post on what's been going on with them since their full length five years ago and why they never fulfilled their Kickstarter rewards. Songs From The Bottom
This was a good read. They are definitely attempting to make things right. Tim reached out to me on social media to apologize for not following through on something I paid for and that meant a lot. Even offered me a refund (which I declined, on account it was so long ago and I'd love to see them be able to afford to keep making music).
Hey all, I just released an EP today and I'd be interested if people here would be into it! Some of my influences are John Mark McMillan, Andrew Peterson, the Soil & the Sun, From Indian Lakes.
Yes! I wish this album was getting more attention. I feel like if they were on a label like Triple Crown or something they'd be a lot bigger.
Yeah I know this doesn't count but this makes me think more prayer should be done in tangent with metal.
What are the highlights in Christian music this year? I really like the new album from Jon Guerra: Colony House album is great too and they were my most listened to artist this year and it feels weird that it came out this year. Needtobreathe’s new one was solid too
That Jon Guerra album is up there for sure. Also: John Mark McMillan—Peopled With Dreams A Boy and His Kite—The Path Became a Ghost Wake Low—Wake Low Dens—Taming Tongues Jonathan Ogden—Twenty Four
Tyson Motsenbocker - Someday I’ll Make it All Up to You John Mark McMillan - People’s With Dreams Those are the 2 that come to mind off the top of my head. Looking forward to checking out the new Weathered album if it’s as good as people here are saying
Peopled With Dreams is definitely my favourite release. Any one listen to JMM’s recent live album? I’m not a big live album person but his are always incredibly good.
Yes, I watched the concert when he premiered it live. It was deeply emotional for me at several points. The live production is really well done, imo. I would definitely encourage giving it a listen, and if you can watch the full concert, his stories and dialogues really make it!
The dialogues are now available as a deluxe edition on Bandcamp if anyone can’t or doesn’t want to watch the actual footage.
