I always hear CNS is their best work, so that's surprising to see. Maybe one day I'll try them out again. I do remember liking that bloodsucker songs off SILYAYD a lot though haha. Interesting. What's a good song you'll recommend off Trenches?

My understanding is that the music has been long recorded but Jimmy Ryan wont/hasn’t done the vocals. Were you a contributer to the crowdfunder for it? Can’t believe they’ve never got round to releasing anything so many years after asking people to fund it! Very true. First band I ever saw live alongside Dead Poetic. They broke up a couple of months after.
Ryan Clark guests on this one, but I'm pretty sure he just does the melodic vocals. those growls are all Jimmy. they've gone through a few drummers, as well. just checked their facebook, and it looks like they are re-recording the drums again (and promising a release soon...although we had promises of a new album by New Years last fall). I honestly don't remember if I backed it or not. I'd be fine with an instrumental album, but I would also love to hear Jimmy again.
Man, that was hard. I could easily put 3-4 Joy Electric releases in my top 10 haha. But this is my list for now, in no order. 1. Cadet - The Observatory 2. Side Walk Slam - Past Remains 3. Ace Troubleshooter - The Madness of the Crowds 4. Further Seems Forever - How to Start a Fire 5. Joy Electric - The Tick Tock Treasury 6. He Is Legend - I Am Hollywood 7. Emery - The Question 8. Becoming the Archetype - Terminate Damnation 9. mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister 10. As Cities Burn - Come Now, Sleep
Ok giving this a try 10. Fair - The Best Worst-Case Scenario 9. Project 86 - Rival Factions 8. Number One Gun - The North Pole Project 7. Sullivan - Cover Your Eyes 6. Secret & Whisper - Great White Whale 5. The Classic Crime - The Silver Cord 4. Mae - The Everglow 3. Copeland - You Are My Sunshine 2. Falling Up - Captiva 1. Anberlin - Cities Honestly, doing this made me realize just poorly a lot of T&N music has aged for me haha. Love everything on this list though obviously
Here's my Top 10: 10. Emery - ...In Shallow Seas We Sail 9. As Cities Burn - Come Now Sleep 8. Underoath - Define the Great Line 7. Haste the Day - Attack of the Wolf King 6. The Classic Crime - The Silver Cord 5. Copeland - Ixora 4. Citizens & Saints - A Mirror Dimly 3. Mae - The Everglow 2. mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister 1. Anberlin - Cities Avoiding repeat artists, but in my more expansive list I have the other two ACB records, Anberlin's Lowborn, and mwY's Catch For Us the Foxes above Emery. Also Cities and Brother, Sister are basically interchangeable at #1 for me.
Ivoryline! Not the most dynamic band, but I love almost every song they wrote. Especially on this album.
Sullivan almost made it into my top 10. Love that album so much. Their newer one was pretty great too.
The Silver Cord is terrific. I feel like if TCC had followed it up with consistently great albums and gotten more success outside T&N that album would have been looked back on as a classic.
Really like the JFH top 100 and the idea of doing a top 10. Really hard to narrow down but off the top of my head some combination of the following: Mae - The Everglow Anberlin - Cities The Juliana Theory - Emotion is Dead Twothirtyeight - Regulate the Chemicals Copeland - Ixora Bleach - Again, for the First Time Further Seems Forever - Moon is Down/Hide Nothing mewithoutyou - Brother, Sister As Cities Burn - All three albums! Dang, already have more than 10, this will be really difficult!
Ten Stories wasn't a T&N release FYI. So good though. Love this list!! I'm checking out Emotion is Dead right now. Man. This is terrific stuff so far. The Juliana Theory was before my time so I remember hearing their name but never checking them out. This stuff sounds ahead of its time though.
All of you are way better than me - I can’t decide a top 10 this quickly, haha! Man, not heard of Cadet before. This is very true. I maintain 2003-2007 are the golden years but those are also the years I got into music aged 13-17!
I love Cadet! They were on BEC and released (2) full lengths and (1) worship album. Excellent band. First album has a surf-punk sound which is awesome and a Monkees cover. The Observatory was their follow up and is a lot more polished. Definitely give them a listen, guys were excellent.
Cadet's lead singer also released a solo album back in 2014 that was quite good. Worth a listen also.
I haven't heard Cadet in a long time, need to revisit The Observatory. Really glad to see Side Walk Slam and Ace Troubleshooter getting some mentions too. I think The Madness of the Crowds was the first T&N album I ever bought
