New song from DENS - new EP coming at the end of the month via Facedown Records. Seems they've moved away from the 'heavy worship' vibe slightly. I guess this song would now be more akin to My Epic or Abel or a band like that.
Just came here to post this. Looks like you beat me to it. Really digging this. Facedown has been killing it with their signings lately.
I like this a lot! Didn’t love their last full length, but you got me when you mentioned Abel. Interesting how they throw the gospel song at the end of both of these new tracks. Looking forward to the EP.

Just a reminder of how great this band/album is. The second half of this song is pure beauty. Why isn't this band bigger?
No Small Tempest, the new EP by DENS, is amazing. Wish it wasn't so short. "Vice & Virtue" might be my favorite song of the year so far. It's up there at least.
A good couple of releases right here! Had a few listens to this so far, sounds good but I'm struggling with these shorter EPs. I find them harder to get into it. I'm definitely an album person but I can see why bands/artists are moving more in this direction. Yes! Haven't dived into the commentary properly yet but it sounds great. Always loved when Sarah McMillan gets involved. I really like this album. Very chilled. I agree that Will is my favourite part of the band but I like this. My favourite thing about United Pursuit is that they just seem so laid back and not chasing after 'Christian celebrity'. A lot of the other big worship bands these days (Bethel, Hillsong etc.) can put out some good music but feel very celebrity focused. I literally don't know anything about any of the people from United Pursuit.
In one of the commentaries he talks about when he first met his wife and it's hilarious. That seems to be a true point about United Pursuit. Interesting to mention. I've only heard the album once, so I'll see if it grows on me. I'll have to check out that DENS group too.
I'm totally a fan of screams, but I feel like this would be better without it. The intro was so strong with her vocals and then the screaming held back her momentum. Still good track though.. who is this band?
I'm with you, man. I'm an album guy myself. I love the music on this thing enough to overlook how short it is though. I get excited to play it back again. I'm putting out my first song soon if anyone here would be interested in listening.
The screams held this record back for me too at first. But I really got into it with more listens. Comrades is great.
Interesting. I'll have to check out the record sometime. I really liked her vocals and the instrumentals. Btw I finally heard Dens EP and dang that was great! They incorporated different styles pretty fluidly.. were they just a worship band before?
I listened to the commentaries last night and they really helped me appreciate the lyrics in a new way. Excellent. Love that he does this. Everything he's released post-Borderland has been brilliant. Not just interested... you simply must share it with us! And hey, if it's good you can say you've got 'international attention' from your first song Their last full length was more worship oriented but I wouldn't call them a worship band in the traditional sense. It's a good album and each song is about a different character aspect of God. I'd say it's Ascend the Hill meets My Epic meets As Cities Burn (Come Now Sleep-era). Whereas this new EP is more just the My Epic / so long forgotten vibe and tones down any comparisons to a worship band that they could have previously had. Hope that makes sense!
Here it is, fine sir! Lyrics in the description. Hopefully it'll make an international fan out of you! Hahaha.
Let me just pile on the Comrades love for a second. Seen that band 6 times in the past 18 months and they floor me every single time. They are also just the nicest people, enough good things cannot happen for that band!
