Now we just need the later EP/album pressed. I'm guessing No Direction would be tricky because of the whole T&N/EMI licensing thing. The EP would have to be a 10" or one sided LP so who knows if that would ever happen
Yeah unfortunately No Direction will never get pressed, but the EPs don’t appear to be T&N so perhaps? But the band would probably need to do those.
In pretty surprising news it looks like As Cities Burn is working on a new record in Seattle with Aaron Sprinkle
I forgot that they had a fourth album, which I remember doing nothing for me (in spite of thinking their original three are all great in their own ways). Do they still have what’s his name who screamed on their first album back with ‘em, who I think was also on their fourth? Maybe I’ll give the new one a shot when it’s done.
They posted some studio pics and vids today. Looks like it's just Cody and Aaron, and then Matt Carter from Emery on bass?
Looking around, forgot that the vocalist from Haste the Day played in As Cities Burn for a bit. Maybe I’ll look at that last reunion album again. But I remember the guitar playing on it feeling less cool or whatever than the original three, which I think is why it didn’t do anything for me.
Ok, bouncing around a few tracks real quick before heading to bed, and it doesn’t really feel like as much of an outlier as I remember it? Lots of guitar stuff that does feel like them. Decent blend of SILYAYD and HOHW. Maybe I just wasn’t in a place to be into them when it dropped. But I could see myself warming up to this, and if their next reunion album is of similar quality, then it, too.
Yeah I think Scream Through The Walls is great and I find it more rewarding the more listens I’ve given it. I think Cody is a generational talent to be honest. All four albums have something to offer. I cannot wait for this new one and I love that Aaron Sprinkle is producing. They’ve been playing Hell or High Water at the Emery shows so it will be cool to see how that might have influenced the writing.
Come Now Sleep will forever be one of my favorite records. I just put it on again this week for the first time in a bit and it immediately took me back to seeing them tour on it in ~2007.
ACB's discography is so cool because Son, I Loved You > Come Now Sleep > Hell or High Water is a perfect trilogy of albums with a super unique progression from post-hardcore to indie rock. Then Scream Through the Walls comes along and sort of ties Hell or High Water's sound right back into Son, I Loved You. It's almost like a circle. I saw ACB open for Emery in Pomona a few months ago, they played a new song it was great. It was just Cody, Aaron, and Matt Carter playing and it was tight.
Anyone listened to the new idle threat album you'll forget the sun? It came out on Friday and was produced by Stephen Keech. Guest vocals from a range of people (Silent Planet, Meadows, My Epic, Haste The Day). I listened for the first time this morning and I'm trying to give it some intentional and dedicated time - I feel like I would have been all over this if it was released in 2004-2009.
New Bleach interview about them getting back together and some great insight on the 90s/00s industry. With all the horrible things that have come out around CCM it just makes me appreciate this band so much more. Genuinely good dudes that created a great community around their music. Also a great new live recording of Baseline. Looks like they are going to release an album(s) with updated versions of songs, all tracked live. New music coming too. I'm so excited for everything. Really hope more tour dates get announced so I can see them live again Bleach & CCM Premieres Reimagined “Baseline” + Full 30-Year Reunion Interview – CCM Magazine
Bleached are so fun. I always forget about them, then randomly revisit and am reminded how solid their stuff is.
It’s difficult to search for on eBay, that’s what it is. Love the name but finding Bleach stuff is not easy haha
