Love the idea of a Christian artist having the last name “Vice,” lol. Anyways, she seems neat.

I got mine too but haven't even opened the mailer to look at it, really excited for this one

I know we've talked about Bleach having 0% chance of getting any albums pressed but this gives me the smallest glimmer of hope, especially with all their 30 yr plans next year

The Evan Anthem just posted a Christmas song from 2005. It's their first activity in years and makes me wonder if they could have something coming? It's doubtful but would be cool. Now I'm going to listen to Sens, I love that album so much

edit: It won't let me post the link but it's up in Spotify

I've noticed some interesting posts from House of Heroes on social media lately...they have their mostly-annual Christmas show scheduled for this year and Tim's posts about it and the band have a tone of "something might happen" to them...for example, he posted today a clip of someone covering a song of theirs and said essentially "songs like these formed us and took us to what's next" - not sure if it's anything but boy does the world need more House of Heroes, if they have it in them.

I absolutely love House of Heroes. I’d definitely be on board.

    Fight the long defeat.

I'd love to see it! The End Is Not the End and Suburba continue to be gems, and the later records are solid too.

I thought House of Heroes would end up being household names in Christian rock alongside Switchfoot and Relient K. Then they just sort of fizzled out. The End Is Not The End is still one of the best alt rock records of the 2000's period, and Suburba and Cold Hard Want are no slouches either. Still not a big fan of Colors... that felt like such an odd record to end on.

    I really thought so too.

Comfort Trap could have done numbers on alt radio if gone the chance.

I feel they actually ended on Cold Hard Want in 2012, imo. Then released that compilation of b-sides…but mostly seemed done (except for that indie EP) until randomly deciding to join the crowdfunding bandwagon to make Colors. Which I consider a HoH record of course but not in the same way the previous three were HoH records…those albums were incredible in their own unique ways. Colors is solid, but knowing some of the band was burned out around that time and after…it feels less canonical for them, for lack of a better descriptor.

HoH definitely were one of the biggest "what if" bands that seemed so primed to blow up. I know in some old podcasts they talked about decision they made that prevented them from getting bigger breaks. Similar to Relient K they were great with MLT as producer/un-official member, especially with those tight vocal harmonies

i’ve been meaning to tell you

colors could've been great, but the lyrics are so bad - the story is nonsensical. rat, we make our stars, feel, god, and matador all could be elite tier hoh songs with better lyrics. also that smoke ep rocked, i love the last 3 songs especially. i remember wearing that cd out with a buddy on a road trip.

Yeah this articulates well what I was trying to say about Colors…not sure if they had the concept album idea mapped out well before making the record or forced it as they went. I do love Colors Die Out a lot though…that bassline slaps.

I started with The End Is Not The End and moved forward…the prior albums are okay, they really found their stride on The End.

Say No More - The End is not the End - Suburba

Those are the definitive hoh albums.

    Fantastic band.

Yeah. I think Sigh No More is great, and it was my first HoH album.

Sigh No More -> Cold Hard Want are all good.

They never released a bad album. Smoke EP is fantastic as well. Would love it if they had some new tunes in them.

Cold Hard Want is probably second behind The End for me. Terrific pop rock record.

I haven’t listened to them in years, so I have no idea what my take on their albums would be. Maybe Cold Hard Want first, then The End is Not the End, then Suburba? That sounds right. Then don’t think I ever cared about the rest.

Oh, and they did a few Beatles covers that were decent enough from what I recall.
