I am here for new Bleach and more shows. Hopefully they make it out west. The last show I saw them at on their farewell tour wasn’t promoted well and like 15 people showed up…then they blew a breaker and Davy had to perform songs on a piano…I felt bad no one showed up. But I met my wife through one of those 15 people, so it was worth it.
Loved their EP from 2018. Was bummed that they named it Part 1 only for them to never follow it up lol, glad to hear this
Absolutely detest when that happens. I remember growing up my dad’s favourite band was Tree63 and they have a part live part studio album called ‘Worship Volume One: I Stand For You’ yet there were never any further volumes which used to irk me. So many good memories listening to those albums with my dad though. Who is making those decisions?! I would personally just name things normally and then if you do a second part or volume that’s when you tag on part 2 or volume 2. Also totally missed this 2018 CV release so I’ll have to check that out.
I think I saw Bleach as part of a festival in Green Bay, WI back in like 2003?. Maybe they were part of the opening before FIF & Audio Adrenaline? Or maybe I'm conflating this from something else 20+ years ago lol
Hey speaking of Audio Adrenaline, I know I already posted this link to the Underdog vinyl but I wanted to share it again because the pictures show signatures from 4 of the 5 members (Tyler’s is missing), which was disappointing to see, but I ordered two copies anyway (one for a friend) and they both showed up with five signatures, Tyler’s was included, which was a really fun surprise and what I wanted out of a signed version of the vinyl: Hands and Feet Project
Awesome interview with some of the Bleach guys. I love how much exposure they are getting the past few months. The big news is they will be releasing a live vinyl album at Furnace Fest! It’s the show they did for Aaron Mars. I hope we get some studio albums but this is great. I just found out the ship Aaron drowned on was The Big Valley. I never put that together that song Davey wrote was about that https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/church-jams-now/id1544099373?i=1000723751750
Interesting…their set that night was almost entirely songs from Farewell Old Friends, except for We Are Tomorrow. Also, Unoriginal Vinyl confirmed with me there wouldn’t be any T&N vinyl pressings…not enough demand/interest to justify.
I find that really hard to believe because they pressed Blenderhead...and I can think of plenty of albums on T&N that would outsell that one
If that Blenderhead album was in a box set with four other albums, and I believe it was, that set was put together specifically because those five albums wouldn’t have sold well enough to justify standalone pressings. And sure enough, that box set sold out because of that approach. I totally hear what you’re saying but the label disagrees and has better access to metrics and numbers than we do, and have said it just won’t happen. It bums me out but I agree with them…it’s all financial with decisions to press or not.
If you sign up for the Bleach mailing list you can get an unreleased demo. It's a more mellow piano based song and sounds great https://bleachisalive.eo.page/
Not sure if anyone saw this a few days ago - John Mark McMillan stepping back from touring and moving to 'a new phase in my life where music is no longer my full time endeavour'. The touring doesn't really impact me as he's unlikely to regularly play the UK. I have thoroughly appreciated his music though and some of the albums have impacted me deeply and hit me through different stages that I've gone through. Sounds like the door is open for albums in the future though?
Paul one thousand percent was a poster, lol. Imagine the tweets that dude could’ve given us if he were alive today.
Paul strikes me as more of a takes videos in the front seat of his pickup in the Home Depot parking lot kind of influencer to me.
Super limited Bleach live album available here, only 100 copies of the white variant. Apparently the coke bottle green variant sold out at Furnace Fest: Bleach - Live/The Lost Show [Limited Edition LP]
