My last record is a year old, figured I'd repost it here. For all the weirdness in mainstream CCM, me and my friends are just trying to do the best we can in our little corners of Christian-adjacent indie music.
You are exactly what the Christian music world needs and I will always shout about your music. This album was great and it still gets listens a year later in our house. We need more of you guys creating honest and genuine music. I hope more opportunities come your way as the corrupt side of the industry (hopefully) gets pulled down.
I randomly stumbled upon plastiqmusiq: joy electric’s sub label from tooth and nail yesterday, some cool but very weird stuff on that label and it all sounded like joy electric lol
Haste the day have a new album recorded. Not touring but will play shows in 2026. Licensed to solid state
Ok, looks like this album would have both Brennan on clean vocals and Giuseppe on drums? Which would be the full album like that (depending on how you classify Coward). So, that alone has me interested.
I did not expect to get new music from The Elms but I also didn’t expect them to do any more shows either. Wish I could get to Indy to see them but too far away. Not really a Christian band but figured anybody who remembered them would be here
The Elms definitely started as a Christian band. I really liked Chess Hotel and Great American Midrange, will have to remember to check the new song out later
Yeah I remember they started out in the CCM scene but they never seemed to fit there. The last two albums were so good. I usually listen to the live versions of the first two albums since they capture their sound so much better. It would be amazing if they redid The Big Surprise how they played those songs live. But at this point I’m just grateful for them to be active again
Whoa! Glad I got the four-vinyl set they released awhile back…love these guys. Edit link to vinyl (it’s still available!): THE ELMS - THE COMPLETE STUDIO ALBUMS — The Elms: The Complete Studio Albums
I was so happy to get that too! I wish they could have pressed the final live show too but just to have those albums is amazing
Yeah the existence of that vinyl set is kind of wild to me considering they were able to get their first two Sparrow Records albums in it…as far as I can tell, albums from that label rarely make it to vinyl…bands like Sanctus Real, who would do well on vinyl I’d guess, aren’t even available.
Oh Sanctus Real would be great, especially that first album. There are a lot of the early 2000s CCM albums that would be great to have. The fact that some Audio Adrenaline and Jars of Clay albums have been pressed gives me some hope
Speaking of which, I feel this isn’t widely known because it was only pressed in one place and is for donation but Audio Adrenaline’s best album, Underdog, is on vinyl and signed by almost all the original members: https://handsandfeetproject.reachapp.co/products/underdog-vinyl
Underdog was such a fun album back in the day. Though, I remember Worldwide giving it a run for its money. I was so bummed when the Kevin Max revival never found its footing, though a Kevin-fronted Audio A would’ve been tough to care about after this year’s Tait revelations anyways.
Ok is it my bad memory or was He Is Legend the band where the singer was making fun of Christians going through deconstructing? I swear that's who it was and it was discussed in here but I can't find it anywhere on this site
