A new idea brought to you by the minds of @skurt @ComedownMachine and Myself. This thread here will be the location of ‘The Chorus Music Club Society’. WHAT THIS IS: Think of a book club but with music albums. Rules: Each week you will be partnered with someone. Pairings usually go up around Friday. The two of you will pick 1-2 albums of your choice and give them to your partner. Each session, which runs Monday to Monday, everyone conveys back to talk about the albums and give their thoughts and so forth when they have a good grasp on the album(s) given. The only rule really is to listen to the albums your partner assigns you. This will be a good way for everyone to be exposed to music they normally wouldn’t listen to or hadn’t gotten around to listening to. Like a music swap almost. Assignments will be randomly generated like the brackets were. There is a great sense of community here, and you’ll meet people you may not have met before and hear music you hadn’t before. Disclaimer: The only way you can turn down an album recommendation is if you have heard the album already or for due cause reasoning (I.e. that one band we won’t name that makes people sick to their stomachs now). Let’s keep it fun and civil. This could be fun! I've always wanted an opportunity to force other people to listen to albums I like
Maybe every week there could be a rule where one of the choices has to be a specific time period/genre etc..., and than 2 freebies so to speak.
I am not gonna turn down any album, as I would expect everyone tagged in here would be up for the challenge of listening to albums they may not normally have an interest in. Kinda think it’ll be fun sometimes. But if you give me country I’m just tellin ya, not gonna have anything great to say.
We won’t start this immediately tonight, seee if we can’t grow more interest. Seems like many are on board though
