I've just been doing knee jerk reactions to the albums which is why the reviews aren't more articulate

 

I drive a lot so listening to new music is a nice way to pass the time, especially if the albums are good.

yup, listening now too in fact, though I had to listen to some other stuff too in research for more gazey guitar tones.

 

Yeah I'll also be taking a break next week and am not against a 2 weeks schedule.

 

I’d be open to trying either 1 week/1 album or 2 weeks and multiple albums. Whatever everyone wants is fine with me.

how about this:

one week, 3 songs. and if you're so inclined people who are teacher's pets (guilty as charged) can do deep dives into the respective albums.

 

Ehhh, I’d rather stick to albums.

I think the thing that’s stopping some people is the write-up aspect of this. There aren’t any rules for that...it’s not like it needs to be a 1,000 word professional review. Even if it’s three or four sentences long that’s fine!

 

Your reviews could literally just be 3-6 bullet points you jotted down while listening to the rec. Doesn't have to be a huge polished review. The idea is just to check out new music and share your thoughts/discuss.

 

Yeah this is a fair point. This all about exchanging and opening up, people aren't here to read feature length reviews necessarily. So I'm game for keeping it to 1 week still, now that I re-think it. But am still not gonna be around until after New Year to join back in unfortunately.

I’ve been struggling tbh, still haven’t been able to find time for my last week’s recommendations. Then there’s the holidays, and then I’m gonna be on tour from the beginning to middle of January. I do personally feel that a 10-14 day window would be preferable to a 7 day one for me.

 

I type in my notes app as I listen to the album whenever something stands out and then fill in the gaps with my iconic witty commentary which makes it go by pretty fast. I don't think my last partner ever posted any thots on my rec now that I think about it but I honestly can't remember ooooop

I mean really as long as we’re all having fun and discovering some new artists, that’s really what this is all about.

 

Alright, here we go:

1. CMCS WILL BE ON CHRISTMAS BREAK FROM 12/25-1/1. THERE WILL BE AN OPTIONAL ROUND THAT WEEK FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TRADE AN ALBUM OR TWO. DM ME IF YOU ARE IN FOR THAT.

2. GOING FORWARD, I WILL EXTEND SESSIONS TO 7-10 DAYS. You can still post them as you finish, but you have a bit longer to do so as well. I’ll still make new pairings weekly, but just keep in mind you have 10 days now.

3. As always, it’s between you and your partner how many you do. If you’re pressed for time, feel free to only do one. Your partner wants more? That’s fine! Assign him/her two or send him to us for that second album. You can do 3 albums if you have time! It’s all on you guys.
