I’m going to agree with everyone’s idea on picking an album and throwing your thoughts out on it. Maybe along the lines of what Kevin and I were trying to do with new releases in it starting on a Friday and running for a week. In regards to people to recommend the albums, we could have our book keeper @anonimito keep a running list and once you recommend an album you fall to the bottom of the list, like batting order. Just some thoughts!
I’m so sorry. Please let me know if there is anything I can offer. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Not sure where else to share this, but does anyone else who goes to a lot of shows get kind of burned out after a while? That was me, but I went to my 5th or 6th show within like a month last night and the spark came right back.
I don't go to a lot of shows so I don't get burned out but I get restless af by the end of the show even if the band is rly good usually. I just hate standing for long periods of time
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I'm hanging in there and have been thankful to be able to spend much-needed time with my parents here in CA. I'll be heading back to Brooklyn on Friday so I imagine things might get a little rocky once I return to the East Coast (though a move back to the west coast in the near future is quite probable--I'll really have to see how things go once I'm back in NYC). I'm excited to check out these recommendations--I've seen Pianos Become the Teeth a few times and have quite enjoyed what I've heard from them.
It's a very emotionally heavy album, and even when I haven't experienced a loss I found it very emotional, but it also seems rather cathartic. Hopefully you feel the same. All the best and I hope you and your family are managing. I have a run of like 12 gigs in just over two months between the end of august and start of November, and I'm already feeling burnt out and considering dropping one or two sadly.
Thanks everyone for being so inviting and awesome in the little time I was part of the club! everyone I interacted with was super cool and we had some great conversations. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread still too. hopefully something else as cool will come from this, sometimes ya just need a break. I'm down for the recommending 1 album a week type of thing for sure. Thanks again @Bad Frequencies @Nate_Johnson @bachna84 @disambigujason @anonimito @Larry David @figureitout @Davjs & @Chase Tremaine. It was fun talking with you all and I got some good recs
Hey guys, give our CMCS members some support. @Patterns in Traffic and @Dumblecore released their EP today and it’s really good. Give it a spin and feel free to discuss it here :)
Just finished, that was a fun little EP, I proper enjoyed that on first listen. Kinda reminds me a bit of a cross between MXPX and The Swellers mixed with some emo influences.
Yeah definitely some of that too. I think Camera Shy is my favourite off the two listens I’ve given it.
Thanks so much for listening and for the great compliments! Those bands are awesome and it makes me happy that you hear some emo influences. Glad you like "Camera Shy," I thought it had the potential to stand out to some people so it's nice to hear! Really happy with how that chorus turned out.
We're planning to do an LP (despite those other priorities that @Nate_Johnson mentioned ). We have a few songs that we worked on that didn't make the EP for various reasons and @Dumblecore is already working on some new material because the man never stops rockin'.
