Nah, I went bed when I got back from band practice around midnight. I only knew anything had gone down when I logged in (via the vpn) whilst eating breakfast in the office, which is also why I didn’t fully read everything. Thanks for the nice messages guys, but as I have said to a few people on Twitter, i’m not the real victim here. This was cyber bullying, I just got caught in the crossfire.
Now that really makes me want to watch 2001 for the Stargate sequence @Connor & @Dog with a Blog know what i'm talking about. What a time to be alive.
I’ll be bouncing my grandkids on my knee someday telling them of the night that Baker Mayfield won a game while the CMCS thread was victim to a Starset imposter
ANNOUNCEMENT It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. First and foremost I want to thank everyone who participated in the CMCS since it’s inception in November last year. These have been some fun, great times and a lot of us discovered music we love through this club, and that was always the point; to spread music you love with the hope that someone else finds a new favorite. We have all had some fun times here, made some good friendships that will continue, and discovered some great new artists/bands. It is with that said that I am announcing the end of the CMCS, at least for the foreseeable future. Why? Well, it’s no secret participation has been down in recent sessions. Real life got in the way, and members have been dropping like flies. Despite the staff and mine’s best efforts we cannot find a way to keep the club going in this format that will sustain interest. Life gets busy, and it’s hard to keep up with this sometimes. The club is only as strong as the members it has, but things become stagnant without fresh ideas and fresh members in the mix. I never wished for it to come to this but it seems to be the unavoidable outcome. With no signs of the club regaining a pulse it’s been decided it’s only right to pull the plug on this version. I will always be open to finding a new method of bringing about a CMCS 2.0, but this rendition of the club seems to be laid to rest for now. Thank you all for your time. I will leave this thread open as a chat of sorts for the members, and any ideas of a 2.0 that come up I will present here. I love all of you and am so thankful to have met and talked to each of you. It is sad to turn the page, but perhaps the next chapter will be better. I want to thank personally my staff members, @Nate_Johnson , @bachna84 , @Patterns in Traffic , @anonimito and @Davjs . I also want to thank former staff that were helps at their time, @Michael Schmidt , @Sheaver10 , @Larry David . I also want to thank everyone who has ever participated in the club, briefly or long term. @jorbjorb @bachna84 @Kiana @disambigujason @broken22 @Micool1 @Larry David @JRGComedy @Patterns in Traffic @broken22 @Nate_Johnson @teebs41 @cshadows2887 @Davjs @highfidelity203 @SamLevi11 @anonimito @CSWAPPO @Chase Tremaine @edisnfg @K0ta @iCarly Rae Jepsen @ryanfears @ineverlose @summertimejesus @Petit nain des Îles @Jim Morgan @xapplexpiex @Anarchivist @GBlades @stijn_p @Larry David @marioeatworld @Mister Lyrical @ugman_2000 @Dirty Sanchez @mattfreaksmeout @ImAMetaphor @Cody @Contender @Dumblecore @navidson @Joe4th @marioeatworld @KidLightning @duritzfan13 @bree1981 @mescalineeyes @littlejohn @skogsraet @Matthewconte @EmmanuelSCastle @JoshShulkin @JM95 @Dog with a Blog @sean_rugy @ChaseTx @MikeyPaine @Sheaver10 @AelNire @elemenohpe @thenewmatthewperry @Rob Hughes @Fucking Dustin @Craig Manning @Michael Schmidt @Kennedy @ShadowTh2b @CarpetElf @sophos34 @Jdaniels @suicidesaints @Kingjohn_654 @theagentcoma @primavera @nohandstoholdonto @ComedownMachine @manoverboard365 @Wall Of Arms @shanerockey @electro haikus @dadbolt @angrycandy @DesolateEarth @LuigiPeppercorn @carrytheweird @Raditz @bradsonemanband @Drewski @Mister Lyrical @St. Nate @Zac Djamoos @Michael Schmidt @ryanfears @AlwaysEvolving21 @Mary V @iCarly Rae Jepsen @Colin Your Enthusiasm @Mr. Serotonin @mad We will return someday, better than ever. Thanks @Bad Frequencies for setting up this club. It was fun getting to hear new music and see user's thoughts on different albums that you may not otherwise have read in other threads. Hopefully in due time there will be a new model that makes sense and can be even more sustainable!
I would love to. I plan to start brainstorming a method that works for everyone and sustains the enjoyment once my wedding is done
Nice edit. Jk. Well, it seems like this had a really good run! And a great idea, tbh. Wish I could have done it more but ya know.....life
I think it would be easier if we made it like a book club and one person a week suggested an album and those of us who have time can listen to it
This was the kind of model I was thinking too. If you don't want or have time on the album that's selected, just sit that one out and do the next one.
It had a good run @Bad Frequencies! I’ve been on this forum for a long time and I’ve seen things like this attempted before and never seen one last as long as this one did. Good job!
would also get away from review writing and people getting benched, etc. People could pop in and out as necessary
