Oh shit @Nate_Johnson you haven't heard this I the Mighty album? It was in my top 10 last year. You're gonna love it
Great 1st review Jim, glad you enjoyed the album. I tried to pick something that would be fun for the summer for you. Inside My Head and The Best I Ever Had are my favs from this too
No I saw Holy Roar tweeted about it yesterday but I haven’t had the chance to check it out yet. That’s a horrible band name though.
Yeah, it really is. The best way to describe their sound is if Jacob Bannon fronted a doomy, wall of sound, pulverizing metal band. They are a mix of Harms Way, War From a Harlots Mouth, Converge, Gaza and Cult Leader.
This week I was paired with @disambigujason and he gave me "Are We All The Same Distance Apart " by Crooks UK. Crooks UK are from, well, you guessed it the UK. They play a mix of hardcore/alternative/indie music. To me the music sounded a lot like Silverstein but without the screaming parts for the most part. The opening track "Above Me" really grabbed me right away with the changing in time signatures and the incredible drumming on the song. I don't even know how to accurately put into words how amazing this album is. After 1 listen I'm pretty sure its my favorite album of the year. I don't normally listen to albums back to back, but I did with this one, and have listened to it a few more times as well. Seriously, you need to listen to this album. You will not be disappointed. I was blown away by the instrumentation on this album. @disambigujason thank you so much for the recommendation of this album. Sorry the review isn't longer but people just need to hear this album. Like, seriously, listen to it right now. RIYL: Silvertstein, Casey, Trophy Eyes Fave Song: Above Me, and really the rest of the album
A band I worked for played with them back in the day, and I loved them and this record! They’re definitely a band that flew under a lot of people’s radars.
I’ve heard of them before. Just familiar with their song a simple message because it was on the punk the clock comp
