Yeah, the one I'm writing about today is Forever Changed.

I need to give the Lorene Drive album another listen...funny story actually. I had it in my iTunes library from years ago (but for whatever reason I never listened) but I just discovered this morning that the track order was incorrect. I want to give it another listen in the proper order haha. I think the closing track will make more sense as the closing track than as the album's second track (which was how I've heard it so far)

I had someone give me ADTR's Homesick out of order as my first few listens, I didn't realize until weeks later when I bought it on cd that the order was all messed up. Luckily it still flowed pretty nicely, but Downfall of Us All needs to be first track.

Edit: I remember it opened up with I'm Made of Wax Larry which is not a bad opener.

Then it went into You Already Know What You Are which ended with gang vocals, leading right into the "Da Da Da" opening of Downfall of Us All. At the time I thought it was a good track listing.

 

Oh gosh, that sounds like a super bizarre way of listening to the album! For suuurrre.

Another fun fact, the last 2 or 3 songs on Lorene Drive's record (when heard in the correct order, haha) are actually re-recorded versions of old songs. That piano ballad used to be a full band track:

 

Hey everyone. I'm super behind on these....My work schedule has changed a bit so I don't have nearly as much time to sit down and write these as I used to. I traded with @teebs41 a few weeks ago. Here is my Review of Bottlenecker by Cassino

CASSINO//BOTTLENECKER

This week I dived in deep to a record called Bottlenecker from a band called Cassino. This band is comprised of two of the founding members of a pretty prominent emo band from the early 2000's era called Northstar. Yeah, What happened to that band, Right?! Well...It looks like Nick Torres and Tyler Odom have been busy making Folk/Americana music in a project they are calling Cassino. They have teamed up with drummer Craig Krampf, who is recognized with contributing work to artists such as Steve Perry, Melissa Etheridge, and Dolly Parton.

When I first started playing the first track I had no idea what to expect. I was completely thrown off guard, actually! From what I remembered, Northstar was pretty pop-punk-ish? I was apprehensive at first cause this sounds nothing like Northstar! With that being said, this is a really good new direction for them. Cassino pushes into the realm of Indie Folk, Americana Rock. The first thing that I feel in love with is the bands very honest and well seasoned approach on this record. Every song on this sounds like its 100% authentic and honest. The lyrics they sing carry a lot of weight behind them every time you listen in. I love their use of fiddle and banjo throughout the entire cycle of this record. I love it when these two instruments are done correctly, as they have done here.

One of the best moments of Bottlenecker is on the last song titled Mirrorball. The Tremelo effect that they use on the lead guitar is beautiful! Everything about this record is fantastic. I really enjoyed listening to this release. If you're looking to get your "twang" on(In a good way), I highly recommend this one. This band would do sooo well in my home town of Provo, UT. I think a lot of artists need to study how Cassino did this, cause they do it very well.
