  1. Have some time to check out new music for the first time in a week. Feels good.

Super Weezer vibes from this. Fun album.

Yesterday for the first time in a while I listened to some of the albums recommended to me on Apple Music. So much fun and I got to listen to War All the Time. Such an amazing album and if it came out today it would still blow a lot of bands out of the water.

Have you delved into any of Ash’s older stuff? 1977 was a big album for me growing up.

    (:

I need some new true emo bands to listen to. Hell even some new punk or metal bands.

Have you heard the Barely March album? I’ve found that to be my standout emo album this year.

I honestly have never heard of them.

They’re a new band (one man project) kinda sounds like if you crossed Weezer with Jeff Rosenstock.

  9. Nice! I have a few Google Play recs on my list to check out. Were you hearing War All the Time for the first time? Such a classic! Just thought about it the other day when I passed a Division St. somewhere (happens every time).

Oh no, I’ve heard it many times.

  11. I have! I'm not super familiar with their whole discography and I don't know if I've heard 1977. I got into them with Free All Angels/Meltdown and I'm pretty familiar with their most recent two albums. Their A-Z project was so cool, there's some brilliant stuff on there as well.

Free Fall Angels is a great album, I kinda checked out on them after that. I should probably revisit some of their later stuff some time. 1977 came out in something like 96 so it def has a different vibe (its well Brit-Rock sounding) to it but it’s a bloody great album and has some of their (imo) best tracks.

  14. I should check that out. I feel like their recent output is just solid pop rock, but their A-Z songs have a ton of experimentation and they go in a lot of unexpected directions. It's pretty daunting when you look at it all at once (the version I have on streaming is 62 songs including B-sides, some live versions and some acoustic versions) but I would definitely suggest checking some of it out.

Have you heard The Subways? Could see you liking them a lot if you’re into Ash. They’re another consistently great UK rock band.

  16. Yep! Love 'em. Most familiar with their debut album but everything they've released has been pretty solid.

Yeah same here with the first. I’d say first and third are my favs by them. They’re working on a new one atm too.

  18. This new Johnny Marr album is surprisingly good. I'd never listened to his solo stuff before. Judging from this the guy is a pretty good songwriter.

I need to check that out. Do you like Morissey?

  20. I've listened to a couple of Morrissey albums but no more than once or twice each. I'm liking this album better than I remember liking any of the Morrissey stuff I've heard.

I don't think I've ever listened to a Smiths album. I should really fix that.

The Smiths are imo one of the best bands of all time.

Morrissey's solo stuff is variable but he has some great albums (Viva Hate, Vauxhall and I, You Are The Quarry).

Marr has never really done anything of note for me.

It seems to me like they just work better together than apart but neither of them will ever admit that, and frankly if I was Marr I wouldn't want to let a man as odious as Morrissey is now back into my life.

@edisnfg Sorry about the delay in writing about Park! This week has been a bit busier for me than I intended. I haven't forgotten about you :)
