Absolution will always be #1 for me because that was my introduction to the band but Origin/Showbiz/Black Holes are all pretty close behind.
I still don’t get on well with Muse, I think it mostly comes down to 2 things, an ex that loved them and Matt Belemy. I can see why people like them, they’re just not for me. They do have a couple of tracks I like though, Muscle Museum and Plug In Baby are quite cool and New Born is an undeniable banger.
ESSAY There is a ton that I love about CMCS. I think its a great way to get people in this community out of their comfort zone. The club is also a great to bring our community together and get us to be a bit closer, rather than arguing over the same 3 albums in the Blink 182 thread. My favorite part of the club so far is seeing how many albums that have been reviewed and seeing people legitimately get into music that they never would have listened to if this group didn't exist. So far my two favorite recommendations have come from @Colin Your Enthusiasm and @Bad Frequencies . Colin gave me Alexisonfire - Crisis, a post hardcore gem that I somehow missed in college. Listening to the record inspired me to go back and listen to all of their albums which was a lot of fun! @Bad Frequencies gave me the Hawthorne Heights - Hurt EP, a nice introduction to the newer sounds of the band and a record that prepared me for their new LP. My two favorite reviews of albums I gave is a really tough question to answer because they all have been so good(TM). I really loved Kevo's reviews of Peripheral vision I thought it did a great job of showing why he was excited to be introduced to the band. The next review I loved was @SamLevi11's review of Nominee - Drag Me Out. This one was really cool because the lead singer has been one of my best friends for about 15 years and Sam seemed to legitimately really like the record. Sam did an excellent job of showing what he was excited for in the future from that band. My favorite addition to the club is definitely release day reviews. That one was special for me, because @Bad Frequencies reviewed my bands record the day that it came out. He put a ton of thought into it and it was one of my favorite parts of our album release. I would say a few more of these popping up on Fridays would be awesome! Overall, I'm very happy that this club exists and am happy to contribute with my tiny reviews every week! :)
I also gave you Halos - Living Like Kings in Confined Spaces which I remember you loving but you never did a write-up for it :(
haha I did like it a lot. that was right before I took a break from the club bc I was too busy with our album release. I try to review most things now!
Very nice! Although, I take offense to the fact that I wrote a review for your bands album as well! (I think it was posted in here.) Love ya @teebs41!!!
So many things you’ve touched on here are exactly what I think are great about this thread and I love that you’ve gotten into Alexisonfire. What did you think of Watch Out! by Alexis? I have that album cover up on my wall in my flat I love it so much.
We sure did. Would be nice to get some new faces in here now though. Been nice having @CSWAPPO and @Mr. Serotonin join us back to back
