Not sure I agree with those choices, but at least you'll hear Animosity. (not my recommendation though, so I'll let it be) They're all great, but I'd have gone with Home over the other two. I will be curious to see your response to any of them though.
I mean the first s/t Sevendust record is just so much different/raw than their subsequent albums. I loved it and has some great tracks but I think it's one of the less accessible ones in their catalog.
Just replied mate Kev my reviews for this week will be tomorrow now sorry. I’m far too hungover to give the albums @Jdaniels gave me any justice today.
I think Animosity is the MOST accessible record in their discography but their debut will always be my favorite.
It wasn't totally out of my comfort zone, I do listen to stuff like this. It's just not really my go-to. I did really enjoy it though regardless of my "half-and-half" review. What's the best Gaslight record?
What do you think of Alpha? I think that, Animosity and Cold Day Memory are their three best with S/T and Home close behind.
So for next week me and @bachna84 have traded some pretty varied albums. I’ve given him the following: Boysetsfire - The Misery Index P.o.s. - Never Better And he’s given me: Tiny Moving Parts- Swell Deafheaven - Sunbather I’m particularly looking forward to checking out Sunbather as it’s one album I’ve heard lots of hype about.
Getting to read initial reviews of The Glass Passenger and Armistice in one week? Too cool! And Ixora last session? :D
It’s half the fun of this place! Glad you enjoy watching us :) you’re like a subscriber to our magazine haha
Very cool matchup, although there are SO MANY other boysetsfire records I would have chosen but that is a good one!
I love Misery Index, I’d say it’s probably my second favourite behind After The Eulogy. I recc’d it though as I think it’s an easier starting point than ATE.
Yeah While a Nation Sleeps is my third favourite. I wasn’t as keen on the last album but it did have some great tracks on it.
I own everything ever put out by them so I could go on for days but they have an insane discography. You really can’t go wrong anywhere.
Indeed! I quite enjoy it! Man, thinking back to previous weeks - reviews of "Futures" and "Integrity Blues" by Jimmy Eat World and "Everything In Transit" too - it's just fantastic! (I'll look forward to the day when there's a review of my personal favorite Jack's Mannequin album - though most consider it to be the weakest of the three... (Don't get me wrong, they're all 10/10 in my opinion.))
I love all of them and his work in general. You should join and be the one to recommend it to someone!
