Awesome, I'm glad! I'm digging the Shakey Graves record a lot more than I remember liking it a few years back. I need to find a moment to sit down and write out thoughts. Haven't had much time to spare, what with putting the Chorus list together and getting ready for a move.
Hows the move going? Dont forget to throw a new Craig Manning album in that long list of stuff to do!
I need someone to rec me some kpop one day. It's so up my alley but idk where to start aside from a few songs I hear here and there
going to get back on actively reviewing these things instead of just listening. rec’ing is still my fave part but sorry for slacking in the other division
I remember when good kid mAAd city came out, it was a total game changer for me. I had never been so enamored by a rap album until that one. It literally felt like i was watching a movie everytime I hit play (and still does)
@sean_rugy and i teamed up this time. He will be listening to: Crooks (UK) - Are We All The Same Distance Apart Dreamcar - Dreamcar I’ll be listening to: Earl Sweatshirt - I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside Car Seat Headrest - Teens In Denial I’ll catch up on my reviews tomorrow lolz
@Craig Manning I can't message you due to your settings. PM me soon so we can discuss our recommendations!
coming my way courtesy of @Patterns in Traffic: Ambulance LTD - LP People in Planes - As Far As the Eye Can See my recs for them this time around: Graham Central Station - Graham Central Station Juana Molina - Segundo haven't heard of either mine, excited to see what they're about
@Patterns in Traffic yo bud thanks already. this ambulance ltd record is already a super fun listen. it's like one degree removed from the neo-psychedelia of like mercury rev, but it's kind of baroque at the same time, but also really driving guitar lines, but also i hear like the birth of what became the modern "alternative" sound wow, even if i don't end up liking it all that much, i'm still making a lot of connections. appreciate it on that alone
Move is fine, just a little chaotic. I'm looking forward to getting it over with! On the album front, I've got a bunch of songs, but haven't recorded anything yet. We'll see if I can fit it in this year! On my list for this morning. Will do!
So glad you're enjoying it! I was pretty strictly listening to pop and alt-rock when I discovered them, and the record blew me away. They blend so many genres and manage to remain accessible. Still one of my favorite albums. EDIT: Spinning this right now because I haven't heard it in a while and your post got me hyped
this week i'll be listening to: del paxton - all day, every day, all night cende - #1 hit single and @Sheaver10 will be listening to: i hate myself - ten songs braid - frame & canvas
This week I'll be listening to: Carissa’s Wierd - Songs About Leaving Apologies, I Have None - Pharmacie and @Zac Djamoos will be checking out: Dear and The Headlights - Small Steps, Heavy Hooves Crows - Cold Comfort EP Also, @skogsraet and I have been chatting and whilst we are both behind with each other - are getting on our reviews too.
Get ready for this one, almost gave this to my last partner. Always excited to hear anyone's thoughts on this album.
I'm massively aware of them and heard songs over the years, some friends are the biggest fans even, but I've never sat with a record from start to finish - so I'm super excited.
I haven't heard from my partner yet and would like to get listening to something. If you have a rec, even if you have a partner feel free to throw something my way!
@Nate_Johnson will be listening to The Strokes - First Impressions of Earth I will be listening to Veil of Maya - False Idol
