honestly all the rancid shit this thread has thrown at me you'd think I'd be just be raging here 24/7 but we cool.
Haha no yeah I’m not about to be a jerk, I’m not about that. More so I was curious to know if anyone has just railed on someone’s rec
@Michael Schmidt and I have decided to trade THREE albums this new seasion. He gave me: Bouncing Souls - How I Spent My Summer Vacation Northstar - Pollyanna John Moreland & the Black Gold Band - Things I Can’t Control I have given him: Starset- Vessels Three Days Grace- One-X Atreyu- Lead Sails And Paper Anchor
I only know their stuff up to about 2005 so it will be new for me haha. I remember seeing them live with TBS and Funeral For A Friend though. We'll give it a shot!
So here's my albums for this week, courtesy of ... some guy. idk. @Cody. whatever who gives a shit. So first up I had Sade - Promise what an old crock of shit, when was this recorded? 1945? You think the gentle soul-infused Jazz with a breathtaking vocal performance full of catchy hooks and pop-sensiblities can trick me into liking this? I don't think so. just because they influenced every artist this side of The xx doesn't mean that this heap of garbage is worth anyone's time or, dare I say, a "masterpiece" 10/10 will force myself to listen to this over and over again and LIKE IT especially during rainy night-drives. Xploding Plastix - The Donca Matic Singalongs Revisited Yo what the fuck is this Tom DeLonge's favorite album or what? Do I look like an alien to you? Is this where Flying Lotus lifted all of his shit? Are you trying to tell me to calm down, is that it? What with these otherworldly, almost beatless chillout vibes full of memorable melodies and pleasant production? Take these gentle little masterfully put together compositions and GTFO on a space ship u nerd. 8/10 - will probably put this on during work sessions and think about what a geek you are lol this week was dope as hell. fucking LOVE that Sade record.
With the SOTY bracket I’ve come to realize @Micool1 tends to be in the minority on every opinion. I like that about him
Well coming from the same guy who said Is This My Fate is one of his least favourite SotY tracks, that shouldn't surprise you haha
@Kiana rec'd me The Horrors - V I like this album! Not a ton, but it is an enjoyable listen. The sound is something like... British Arena Pop Rock? Immediately when looking at the track listing, I noticed this would be a dense listen. There is only one track under 4.5 minutes, with the average track coming in at just over 5 minutes. That said, the length is not noticeable. The songs are fully realized and alternate between atmospheric and skyscraper choruses. This is an ambitious, but not pretentious album. My favorite songs are "Press Enter to Exit" and "It's a Good Life." Thanks for the rec, Kiana!
