So noticing that some artists had a bunch of different albums listed without a real consensus pick (which therefore made them longshots to make the final cut) I got curious which bands/artists were listed on the most ballots and crunched the numbers. This will obviously be way different than the final list given weighting and consensus around specific albums. Figured people might be curious: 50%: Jimmy Eat World 38%: Radiohead, Bon Iver 36%: Death Cab for Cutie 33%: The Hotelier, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Kanye West 31%: The Gaslight Anthem, Kendrick Lamar 28%: Fleetwood Mac, Carly Rae Jepsen, The National 26%: Jack's Mannequin, The Menzingers, Thursday, Weezer 25%: Bright Eyes, Motion City Soundtrack, Neutral Milk Hotel 23%: Phoebe Bridgers, My Chemical Romance, Sufjan Stevens 22%: Blink 182, Fall Out Boy 20%: The 1975, Against Me!, The Beatles, Green Day, Frank Ocean 19%: Julien Baker, Manchester Orchestra, mewithoutyou, Paramore, Say Anything, Thrice, The Wonder Years 17%: Modest Mouse, Taking Back Sunday 15%: David Bowie, Cursive, Linkin Park, Nas, Nirvana, Prince, Paul Simon, The Weakerthans 14%: Arctic Monkeys, The Beach Boys, Beyonce, Coheed and Cambria, Deftones, Bob Dylan, The Format, The Killers, Lorde, Kacey Musgraves, Outkast, R.E.M., Refused, Saves the Day 12%: Circa Survive, Daft Punk, The Dangerous Summer, Every Time I Die, Hop Along, Jason Isbell, Tom Petty Elliott Smith, The Smiths, Spanish Love Songs, Third Eye Blind, Tom Waits 11%: A.F.I., Arcade Fire, Bjork, Counting Crows, The Cure, Deafheaven, Explosions in the Sky, Frightened Rabbit, Led Zeppelin, Madvillain, John Mayer, Joni Mitchell, New Found Glory, Pixies, Vince Staples, System of a Down, Vampire Weekend, Neil Young 9%: American Football, Fiona Apple, At the Drive-In, Kate Bush, Charli XCX, The Clash, John Coltrane, Converge, Copeland, Drake, Earl Sweatshirt, Foxing, The Front Bottoms, fun., Glassjaw, Gorillaz, Jay-Z, Billy Joel, Moving Mountains, Oasis, Rage Against the Machine, Damien Rice, Jeff Rosenstock, Nina Simone, Tegan and Sara, Tyler The Creator, Butch Walker, Wilco
That makes sense, Jimmy Eat World are extremely beloved around here and their classic works have "held up" quite well imo
Honestly, given that almost everyone came to this site for one style of music, that list has made some serious progress. Taylor Swift and Kendrick are WAY up there. Phoebe Bridgers has more votes than Blink 182. Bjork was on as many ballots as New Found Glory. My main issue (unsurprisingly) is that it skews very modern, but that makes logical sense. Also there’s a very diverse spread of older artists who got votes. If anyone really wants to see who got 5 or 4 ballots each (I cut it off at 6), I can type them out. It would just take a minute.
32/50 of these are pretty incredible, and another handful are decent to great. shoutout ziggy top 5! wish I liked bob's band more
I love one JEW album and two DCFC albums and outside of that I think they’re fine. But those albums are special.
Joni Mitchell getting on more ballots than The Front Bottoms or fun (both of whom I like, to be clear) is really heartening
I sometimes consider DCFC my favorite band so it’s cool to see the love for them. JEW is great but I don’t find myself returning to them as much as others.
Didn't personally include any Jimmy albums on my list, though I did list two DCFC albums. Both great bands that deserve to be featured. Excited to see the end results!

Too many to type.
Oh and for all the people that were worried, Chad Perrone, Liz Phair, Frank Sinatra and Vince Guaraldi's soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas were on as many ballots as Brand New.
