I have it in my head that I don't like Bjork but also last tried to in like 2011 or something so I should probably try again
So glad you liked it! I love that the band is pretty much just a super group of session guys. I think the album does a great job of letting everyone flex without it becoming inaccessible or circle jerky
Post and Vespertine would have made my list if I got into her earlier. Definitely check her out if you haven’t
The indie alt rock band she was into before going solo, The Sugarcubes, are also well worth a listen. Life’s Too Good and Stick Around for Joy are pretty close to as great as her classic solo stuff.
@tomdelonge you were absolutely right about Twilley Don’t Mind. Miles ahead of Sincerely, and honestly one of the best power-pop albums I’ve heard. “Looking for the Magic” is holy-shit special

Listened to Paul Simon’s Graceland for the first time today and was pretty blown away by it. This, along with a bunch on my honorable mentions list, would probably make my top 50 if only I’d heard some of them earlier in my life. Makes me wonder how my list would look in 2-3 years.
Looking For The Magic really is one of the greatest power pop/heartland rock songs ever. I prefer Twilley Don’t Mind, but there are some heavies on Sincerely, “Baby Let’s Cruise” is too smooth
Tyler's recent 2 albums work better for me if I think of him more as a Quincy Jones-esque arranger of sounds. He uses a lot of other vocalists as texture to make his statements.
Hard to find a song more joyful on a musical level than “You Can Call Me Al”. And then the amazing middle age malaise lyrics make it even better.
Ya Graceland is great. Was tempted to include it but I haven’t spun it in a few years, and couldn’t really recall any of the songs after African Skies (which slaps) I told you!
I tried but no list I came up with satisfied my brain so I gave up. I got to about 20 ranked and then a pool of probably 50 beyond that I struggled to whittle down bc it seemed arbitrary at a certain point.
New Breed by Dawn Richards, Ciara by Ciara and Kaleidoscope Dream by Miguel might also be up your alley
If you want to be counted, you’ve gotta do it quick! I think @phaynes12 is putting it together soon. edit: never mind, too late! Would still love to see more individual lists though.
@tomdelonge listened to that Will Ackerman album from your list and it's just plain gorgeous. Makes total sense that he started a label that would sign George Winston. Virtuosic but so beautiful.
