True, but a lot of albums are universally loved that don’t get much attention here. Wasn’t saying I was surprised bc the album doesn’t deserve it, just not one I expected to see listed so often on this site specifically.
There's no way he has a thread, so hot sweet fuck Link Wray is a fantastic record. NOT what I expected only knowing "Rumble"
I'm not a huge huge fan but in terms of influence and the fact that it's literally a perfect record, I had to put it on there. Plus, like I said, the cranberry juice drinking "Dreams" guy
Tusk is great. Love Tango in the Night as well. Rumours has a specific honesty to it that translates to complete magic for me.
Yep it’s an incredible album. I actually saw MC Taylor from Hiss Golden Messenger talking about that album and how it was a big influence on him and that’s what initially turned me onto it. So if you enjoy this album I’d recommend checking out the HGM album from my list as well, kind of a similar style with the blend of rock, folk, country, gospel, and the blues.
I actually had it saved on my Spotify for a year cause I'd seen a rave description of it (I honestly forget who from now) so seeing it in your honorable mentions really gave me that proper kick in the ass Good to know about HGM. Being influenced by this loose gospel-blues hick hoedown is a good selling point.
Missed your list somehow yesterday. Great stuff all around of course, but especially thrilled that it's looking like Lucinda has a good shot at making the final compilation Pat does
i listened last night and ... i standby what I said lol if I wanted to hear talking heads b-sides i'd listen to Bonus Rarities and Outtakes
That would be a fun set of ballots from half the site and maddening from the half that would say, like, Ziggy Stardust is underrated.
My underrated ballot would give me a spot for Stephen Bishop’s Careless and Katrina and the Waves’ s/t. I kinda want that now
It's on mine! By far my fav Bowie record. Sometimes the consensus favourite is that way for a reason.
I read the start of the thread and had mixed feelings but I've left BN out - still working on that one for myself. Otherwise I tried to limit to one album per artist.
