fair enough, I was just thinking for less album oriented artists I would want to represent but I suppose that might go against the point of an *albums* list
I think it has to be something like Singles Gone Steady or Legend where it's been on these sorts of lists before
What percentage of @zmtr's list will be Bon Iver, Volcano Choir, DeYarmond Edison, or other assorted Justin Vernon projects? Over or under 10/50?
if you’re banning one, choosing the other is pretty wacky. the argument for both should be “are there new songs” (oasis compilation is a lot of stuff that was pretty much impossible to get otherwise/live at leeds and time fades away both have songs on no other the who/neil young albums).
I see that (I'm not saying they should be banned, just that I'm not into it) but at the same time live albums are not just old, already recorded songs that we've already heard...they're interpretations of those songs, sometimes with something new, sometimes with different arrangements, different instrumentation, solos that are placed in a specific order. To me, live albums have more of a case than greatest hits.
