Okay, initial list is at 80 so that's pretty good. I'm limiting myself to one per artist though so it could've been a LOT worse

 

Been working on this for a few days and think I’ll be finally ready to post today. Also- 100000% on board for a top women albums list

 

I'd like to personally apologize to @George for waiting like 7 years to take his rec on We Were Exploding Anyway. Should have known anything you rec'd that hard would be this awesome. Hot damn.

A few notes:

• No repeats except for Radiohead.
• I'm fully aware Morrissey is an asshat.
• This is more a list of formative favorites than all-time great albums. It's super concentrated in the 1997-2006 era when I was first getting into music. 45/50 probably would not make an "all-time great albums to check out" list.
• I have a feeling about 25-30 of these would be replaced by other albums if I redid this list in a year.
• 4/50 female singers is abysmal. I know.

Oh damn I totally don't even have the first Arctic Monkeys record in my ~150-album list I'm making cuts from right now and that is for sure a top 50 one for me

 

I feel like no matter how long I wait to do this and submit a final one I'm going to leave stuff off

 

I love a good ranking I just don’t desire to put in the effort to rank 50 albums. Someone asked me to list my top 5 Blacklisted songs and it took me a month to settle on 3 after listening to their discography over and over.

 

They're one of those bands where someone could mention any of their albums as their favorite and I would completely understand it. Each one is great in a different way.

 

Yeah I love (almost) all of their albums but the first one got basically daily spins for me for awhile in high school so it's the one I'd throw on this list

 

I have the albums im just trying to rank them now lol.

 

I kinda went with a stream of consciousness with the ranking. Obviously I would put albums I feel more strongly about towards the top, but after that it just feels like the exact ranking was arbitrary since it can change at the drop of a hat

 

zero chance that damon albarn is wearing a mask either but there’s also zero chance that dork sniffs my list, so yeah

 

My top 50 is just going to be every Damon project just to piss pat off
