I’d never heard of Arthur Russell until just a moment ago, but after Wikipedia-ing that album it sounds really interesting ! Looking forward to checking it out.

Yeah I'm not being "strategic" at all in my voting. I think 85% of my list will have overlap with others here but there are some "wasted votes" for sure. Doubt anyone else will have Lucinda Williams in their top 10 (although "other" Chris could surprise me)
Arthur Russell is brilliant. "That's Us/Wild Combination" alone is a masterpiece and was ahead of its time.

”True To Your Heart” finally getting some respect! I tried to sit down and start making a list and it broke my brain so I may end up tapping out but who knows!
Don’t agonize over it. They won’t carve it on your tombstone. Just make one, don’t look back, and be part of the process
One of my 50 is an album of my Dad’s. Probably 10 people have ever heard it. But if I’m making an honest list, it’s there, wasted vote or no

My biggest issue is that 50 is about 2% of what I OWN, let alone what I’ve heard. So while I love stuff from every era and genre, this ballot is going to be light in some areas like jazz and hip-hop. It is what it is
Same. My initial list is heavy on music generally known and loved by this site, just because a lot of it was formative to me and came out when I was of a certain age. Kinda shamefully, only like 10% has female vocalists and band members, even though that's easily 50% of what I listen to.
