On the Roof Again is delightfully quirky! Max's use of alliteration in his songwriting is unique and charming! I will hear no dissenting opinions!
I come here humbly asking for advice, which I realize is funny considering it's a strategic and competitive game: Would you guys switch out a first pick you loved for a second pick if the first one was from an album that had been used twice before in the league? Is that something other people even care about?
Personally? I try very hard not use music from an album that's already been used, but when someone else does, I don't factor it into my vote at all.
Wouldn’t switch it out and wouldn’t change my voting standards either. I realized I used 2 Deftones songs within 3 rounds I think (albeit from different albums and in different “seasons” of our league - but don’t care). If I love a song and it fits the theme, I’m using it.
Yeah, I really do feel THAT much stronger about my first pick, so I think I should keep it. Thanks for the insight, everyone!
Wow I was also going to use a Camp Cope song! (But not that one, because that song rules) Edit: ha! Mountain Goats was also on my list of potential submissions
SHOCKED to see 'You Can Call Me Al' on here - BLAND?!?!? That bass line alone to me eliminates it from consideration here. Besides the word bland, I do like this description however, it made me chuckle: "Musically, it is so inoffensively bland that it can still be blasted at you 40 years after it was released while you're trying to purchase apples and grapes on a warm April afternoon." Still gotta get this some votes, for me, this song goes. Lol
Also gotta love how the song about getting drunk and high on the beach comes 2 songs after the straight edge anthem.
