I am going to interpret it as something that wasn't as popular, like a B side or a lesser known artist.

 

It was my suggestion and can be interpreted either way, but for me, it was meant to be a non-single album track from a 90s album/artist. The artist doesn't have to be a deep cut.

I'm going to be honest, there were some songs I just did not vibe with in that last round.

But that Silk Sonic song being so low was disappointing.

 

Right now I am in this league and in a league with my co-workers. I find it kinda funny, in that league I often submit more modern songs and a lot of the winning songs are typically from the 70s and 80s, not a ton of modern songs submitted. Then now in this league, I submit Traveling Wilburys which would KILL in my work league, but doesn't do quite as well here. I totally get it, just find it interesting to note how different crowds get different results

 

Yeah, I am also in this league and a league with friends. I shifted from the last "season" to now by considering what I think people will enjoy more than just what I like. I mean, I'm still picking songs I love, but I'm not always going with my first choice anymore. I am doing better I'm both, lol.

 

It's a thin line to walk!! In my work league I truly think that I could game the system so easily and win if I wanted to, it's become painfully obvious what type of song can run away with it every time.... but I have to remind myself that I'd rather subject them to something new even if they don't like it, rather than just playing to win

 

Have you had any categories in that league that you’ve also done in this one where you submitted the same song and got drastically different results?

 

I submitted "Brought to the Water" by Deafheaven in both leagues and was well-received in both, which is a definite win lol.

 

So far, anytime there has been a similar theme in both leagues I have kinda challenged myself to submit something different, but honestly there hasnt really been any theme overlaps that I could test it with yet.

 

What about a single from an artist that wasn’t very popular? Isn’t that also a deep cut?

 

Up to interpretation! If you don't think folks will recognize it, it's probably a deep cut lol. Giving myself away, but I was literally just thinking of Hum songs that weren't "Stars."

 

My main gateway from this round was that I'm super late hoping on the Bon Iver hype train, I loved all the songs he's been a part of so far.

 

If you haven't listened to his solo albums...oh boy, oh boy.

I attempted to include songs I traditionally listen to in here and would do well in other leagues that have not done well. Oh well. I have pivoted to adapt! It is working pretty well so far!

 

Just saying that I would throw some votes in for "The Pod" or "Coming Home."

...just saying.

 

Hum have so many songs that are far better than Stars. Bring it on.

 

We may or may not have the same idea. (I think "The Pod" may have been a single with a video, though?)

 

Both were, I think. Either way, I’ll throw some votes out for Hum.
