Aaron admitting he didn’t listen to Audioslave is WILD.

this is one of the best rock choruses of all time:

I’m seriously shocked at how poorly that song fared this round!

I LOVE that record - and knowing chorus, I thought that an amalgamation of FOB and ETID would do big numbers. That’s part of the fun of this though, I guess!

Almost went with this one but had to pick the OG album opener.

Cornell’s vocal performance on that track …. Absolute legendary stuff.

Same! I wish their second album lived up to the potential, especially with the addition of Dan Andriano, but it didn’t quite get there besides a few bangers.

I was also hugely surprised because Chorus LOVES ETID and it literally the perfect supergroup.

That sound Morello does at the beginning of Cochise is insane. I had to google if that was actually him doing it.

Holy shit I actually didn’t realize he was on that one!
May have to revisit it. I recall liking “cells” a lot but not much else stuck.

Speaking of Dan Andriano, how did I not think of The Falcon until right now???

For all those of you that loved Palms (so underrated). They released a two song EP last year. I initially chose the first song but it takes roughly two minutes to really getting going and the second track is an instrumental so it wouldn't reveal who the surprise was.

    Fucking goosebumps

  17. I liked the Audioslave song for sure, it was just before my time and I never got around to the album. Will definitely be changing that.

The Damned Things, unfortunately, was not for me.

  18. TSOAF honestly did much better than I assumed it would once I saw the playlist! Kinda funny that the other two songs I had it narrowed down with in my selection pool got first and second places, haha. Looking forward to this next round - such a wide open category. I’ve got three front runners right now I’m trying to decide between.

The biggest disappointment for me personally was The Sound of Animals Fighting. I had never really dug into their music but that song really didn't showcase the overall talent of the people involved. It even took a while for it to get going. Going to check out the albums though.

act 2 is probably where I would've went with TSOAF because that riff rocks

Volcano Choir is cool. Big Red Machine on the other hand: I could not get past those autotuned vocals. T Pain was that you? lol

  23. Yeah Act II was the other song I considered submitting from them - just knew there would be some heavy hitters on this playlist and that song is a little chaotic lol. My Horse has a solid little hook and does a great job blooming into something you wouldn’t expect it to from that first minute. Also kinda didn’t want a song with AG on vocals since I knew there was a good chance he’d show up elsewhere in the playlist

  24. The 90s deep cut round is one I’ve been thinking about a little bit. I know the answer is, as always, “up to individual interpretation” - but I am curious if the person responsible for the category meant like a 90s deep cut song or a 90s deep cut artist. My assumption is the former but then my mind started wandering to some lesser known artists that didn’t really have hits. And can you really have a deep cut if you never had a hit?

I’d like to know the intention as well if the category suggester wants to speak up and clarify in the next few weeks - 90s is def my wheelhouse but I’d like to know as well. First gut feeling is to go for a one-hit wonder (lesser known artist) but the dig could definitely be “hey this was a hit!” , not such a DEEP CUT.
