I am saying I was expecting it to be on there. Honestly, it’s kind of a Chorus group and I love all the other cool projects on here that don’t get enough attention.
Y''all did AWESOME again - let's GOOOOO with this one. Now can't decide if I want to listen now or on my commute home. Also - my #2 choice that I was wavering between is also on here, so I'll get to see how both songs fared.
Goddammit, I was going to choose Highwayman by the Highwaymen but it was already chosen when I tried to enter it. But the person that chose it must’ve changed it because it’s not on there. I spent so long trying to think of something lol.
I thought of doing boygenius but avoided it because I thought so many other people would pick them. I’m kinda tired of hearing about them too.
I’m surprised nobody used BOO or Velvet Revolver So many good Greg Puciatio projects too. But this list is great
sorry, this was me lol I love that song but I second-guessed whether anyone else would care about it. "Dear God" is a good choice, that was on my shortlist. So was RTJ, but I would have gone with "A Christmas Fucking Miracle."
Seeing the Jme & co track makes me nostalgic for that time in 2018 I went on a grime deep dive, and also suddenly gives me flashbacks of another UK hip hop group, Roll Deep!
Yeaah, looking over this, I think it's fair to say that this playlist is a bit 'heavier' than most we've had before. And I am stoked for that.
There are so many hardcore and metal "supergroups" that would've been easy to pick. But people in those genres tend to play in so many different projects it's hard to really call some of them supergroups, they're just other projects. This was the second round in a row where I almost picked Fiddlehead but couldn't settle on a track so went a different route.
The two other picks that I had narrowed down to alongside my own both got taken - literally the exact songs too. Pretty wild lol. Tempting to split my vote between them and call it a day
idk, if the duo is more than a feature and are putting out full records id count them as a supergroup would be weird to consider run the jewels as not a supergroup
My pick is listed as a supergroup on Wikipedia so I just went with that because when is Wikipedia ever wrong!?
In regards to RTJ, I consider them more of a steady thing than a supergroup. They have released 5 full lengths? When I think of a supergroup, I think of musicians that come together for one, maybe two records and then fizzle out.
I would define a supergroup as any band that features more than one musician that has already experienced prominent success in another project - any deviation from that seems pretty nitpicky to me
So if boygenius break up now, they're a supergroup, but if they release two more albums... They aren't?
