Live and Let Die is a cool song. Good pick and it’s only three minutes long.

In the comment I left on the Periphery song I said that I thought P3 was a little bit of a letdown after P2, but I think that was the wrong word. It’s still P2>>>, but in revisiting now I think it’d just been long enough since I’d heard the follow up that I forgot how much I fucked with it. Definitely the last record I liked from them though

 

Only four people have voted so far, but the top five or six picks right now are all really great.

 

Listening to that Childish Gambino track weirdly made me think of Emery’s “Thrash” - a pretty wild grindcore-ish song that abruptly transforms into a stretch of super soulful doo wop. I never cared all that much for them but someone on AP convinced me to check it out and I remember being impressed. Would’ve fit this round perfectly

 

That Metric song is next level. Holy shit

This playlist is a struggle…
Definitely my least favorite of the bunch.
I believe a lot of these songs would work on their own but not in a playlist like this.

 

Not gonna lie, the Meat Loaf and ELO songs kind of blew me away, which is not what I expected. The Meat Loaf track was a ton of fun and the ELO song is just really great - loveeee the sound of that guitar.

I will just say that, for the most part, the stuff here that worked really worked and the stuff that didn’t, well, didn’t.

 

My two cents: just because a song is long doesn’t mean it takes you on a journey, unless it’s straight to bed or the skip button.

 

Lemme know if anyone needs extra time for this week, I know a fair amount still haven't voted

 

I gave it a second listen today before voting. Divided it between the better and more energetic (not necessarily correlated categories) songs to listen to on a run and the lesser and slower ones (again not necessarily correlated) to listen to on a dog walk.

 

It’s definitely a slog to get through.

 

This week’s playlist was actually the first one to grab me in several weeks tbh

 

I’m pretty surprised that the song currently in last is where it is. Didn’t care for the song much, but I felt like it really fit the round

The fact that Radiohead is first place is baffling. Monotone for the whole song then the last minute it goes "wild". Lmao

 

I didn’t like every song but I thought the playlist was very fun to listen to over the course of two days.

Also Paranoid Android is an all timer.
