Do any of you know what happens if 2 people choose the same song? Maybe the app won’t let that happen

It's exactly that. Whoever submits second gets a notification that the song has already been submitted, and they have to choose something else.

 

The app will also warn you if someone else picks the same artist, but you're still able to after the warning
