I typically notch a point for every song I want to give points to as I am listening, then after I listen to the playlist, go back and allocate how many to those tracks accordingly
I gave +1 to the songs I liked or found something to appreciate, +2 for songs I liked more / could see myself throwing on, +3 for songs that I loved / made me want to check out the complete album

Great first round! Really wish I could have picked this track from 2024, because it was new to me in 2025 and I instantly fell in love with it. Discovered through another music league I joined this year and it blew me away. Reminds me of a more psychedelic Nick Drake!

I have a philosophical beef with this app: whenever two songs get the same amount of points, it gives the win to the song that more people voted on, whereas I would argue that the same amount of points by fewer people holds more weight. Totally not related to me coming in second because of this shit lol
Also for the next round: I stuck to the promot but I was close to submitting a Christmas song to protest this WAR ON CHRISTMAS STEVE ;D

Trying to dig deep on this one and find something to introduce people to or at least give them a chance to check out an artist they may have heard of but not yet spent much time with. But so many of my go-to winter albums are from artists I know everyone here is familiar with (and one that was just submitted last round).

Just curious, has there ever been a case where the same song was submitted by different people in the same round?
The app doesn't allow that. It will allow you to submit a song by the same artist (though it will give you a warning, known as being "orange boxed") but if you try to submit the same song it will "red box" you and not allow it. I think it can potentially happen if the same song appears on different releases, but they may have fixed that.
It happened once in the TV themes round where myself and someone else both submitted different versions of Alabama 3's Woke Up This Morning. If you submit the exact same track as someone else, the app will catch you, but if it's a slightly different version of the same song not so much - although normally you get a message if someone has chosen the same artist.
