I Just Want to Sell Out My Funeral by TWY and Anthology by Thrice are two of my fave callback songs.

Won't lie, mine was very low-effort, I was deep in Unsound Festival in Kraków and flew back to UK last night.

Mine was very impulsive and I already feel a bit bad for subjecting you all to that lmao

  4. feel like mine was also a bit obvious but I was slammed with Horror Fest prep last week

  5. App is suddenly going HARD with the ads again haha. Felt like there weren’t any at all for a few months!

  6. Not surprised by the song in first right now, but there’s a song nearly halfway down the list (9th place) that I thought would’ve been crushing

Weird theme for the next round, interested to see what folks come up with

  7. This was a killer round. "Taxi Driver" is an absolutely incredible pull. I loved that GCH record, haven't listened in a while but might throw it on now

I’m personally so tired of Not Like Us but I’m also a known Kendrick hater since day one

  9. Taxi Driver is the only one on the playlist I definitely saw coming, but like, mission accomplished y’know. Da shoe fits

Came in late, currently not dead last, I’ll take that.

(Watch that change in the next rounds)

If anyone wants more referential songs here was the playlist I came up with (there are a few repeats) -

Y'all I am seriously the worst .... have missed out 3ish weeks now in both this and the Every Single Year league - big apologies. Life has gotten in the way, work has been crazy busy - and I turned 40, so I guess I can just blame forgetfulness as well now that I am getting old.

Will try to jump back in next round even though I'm out of the running!

  20. Having one of those moments where I submitted a song I really thought could not lose "No Ordinary Love" by Sade in the Best of 1992 round in the other league and am just in disbelief that it is currently in second to last place lol

It's really funny to me because the league is some people from Chorus, a few of my co workers and a friend of mine from high school, so I kinda know everyone's musical preferences and I know that getting into the 90s and beyond we're gonna get some very different opinions haha

For Sade, I think there were just a few other heavy hitters that took over

Late 90s and early 00s were maybe the best time for diversity on the charts, you really had it all with TRL pushing hip hop, r&b, pop and multiple genres of rock
