My first pick for this guitar solo round was also already taken, not the least bit surprised haha

 

What if I just submit “Smooth” again this round?

I feel so betrayed by whoever picked Impossible Germany and then changed it. I was pulling for you!

 

after listening to it just now, i wish i'd submitted "the exhumation of virginia madison" by strung out for the guitar solo round

 

I wish I thought about it before, but it would have been fun to require a timecode for the guitar solos so you could run through the playlist and just listen to the solos too

 

I was very close to submitting

 

I definitely went through a few Coheed tracks, that one included, when looking

 

Yeah, I was really surprised by the lack of Coheed. As a metal fan I had a ton of options but wanted to go with something that wasn't just technically-proficient guitar wankery.

My second choice was the solo in the live version of "Weak Man" by Good Old War (~3:34-4:45). The technical skill plus the way it interpolates both the instrumental and vocal melodies. It's pretty dope.

 

I ain't even have to press play on that, I can immediately hear it in my head

 

my phone auto corrected from "don't" to "ain't" but honestly I like it better

 

Gonna submit Ed Sheeran this week and see what happens

 

Great timing for some family stuff to come up - back now though.

Yeah this is hard because I get like 99% of the music I listen to from these forums lol. So there’s a good chance no matter what I put somebody here has heard of it.

I feel like any artist I listen to that people in here wouldn't be familiar with is an artist people in here are not going to like, lmao

 

I'm excited for you to all hear my pick. I'd be shocked if more than 2 people know who the band is. And I'll be even more shocked if the majority of you guys don't end up really liking it.
