Yeah, that album is awesome. The past albums take some warming up to the vocals, but once you get it you get it.
@bobsheiskawy wtf lol I’m sorry and I promise I’m not mad but imo my pick was pretty much the perfect embodiment of this round! genuinely confused haha.
It's definitely a good song and I probably should've given it a point for general compliance, but I still think it feels more like a natural takeoff than something that throws me. I guess I was just kind of expecting it to do what it does haha
I'm also mad at myself for not doing everything I could to submit "Impossible Soul" for this next round.
reminder that I will absolutely extend this round, so take as much time as you need to go through the playlist
Bravo to everyone on the jump scare round, that was very fun. My pick was a stretch but I could not think of anything! And then I saw that Foxing song on the playlist and went "oh, of course"
Figured I would first try with a lower hanging fruit and it's already submitted. Good pick, will get some votes, but I'll keep thinking.... Second thought, taken as well
Despite a rough start, the Underoath track wound up coming through haha. It was the only song I could think of that felt like a genuine jumpscare - like the killer in a movie making their final attack after you thought they were dead. There were lots of great picks in there though! That Foxing one deserved the win. I was not huge on that album so it’s been a while - completely forgot about the jolt there
my top pick for this round is clearly the LCD/Gorillaz/Andre 3000 track but it isn't on spotify. This is likely the third time I have whined about not being able to pick this song for music league
Also, I have Cartel's Q+A combined as a single track in my library, but clearly can't submit it as two tracks, wah wah
Oh yeah that reminds me that my out of the box pick for the last round was picking “joke skits”, which was originally the hidden material at the end of New Found Glory’s Sticks & Stones, but is separated into its own track on streaming. Didn’t pick it because it’s not a really a song haha. But it was absolutely the first time a CD ever scared the shit out of me. If I could’ve submitted the closing song with the hidden track, would’ve done that
Absolutely remember playing that CD as a kid, forgetting it was still on during the silence after the last song, and being scared shitless when the joke skits started. It got me more times than I care to admit
Who wants to put in bets for playlist length? I think I am going to estimate..... 5 hours and 41 minutes
