Lots of great options for this round. I was honestly taken by surprise yesterday and submitted the first thing that came to mind, but I'm glad I took some additional time to look at my collection yesterday. Excited to see the results!
Looks like the MAN ON MAN song wasn’t generated onto the Spotify playlist? It’s definitely on the platform so idk what happened there
This playlist is awesome. At least five artists I want to dive into deeper, and I ran out of points. Great work, everyone
Also we had a round almost identical to the next one in the second season and I'm struggling to come up with another pick that isn't too obvious lol
Yeah we’ve had that prompt like every round so far and I always stink at it because my dad likes Motown
A very good winner for this round. That album/Laura’s transition literally changed my life for the better.
Yeah perfect album. I thought about using a song of that album but the entire thing is perfect so I didn’t know what to pick. Probably would have gone black me out.
Hard to go wrong with anything from that album tbh, but the title track makes a really sets a strong precedent for that album and this playlist. Inspired me to revisit!
For anyone who enjoyed that waveform* song, they're on RFC now. The two newer albums (including the one "Hellogoodbye" is on) are a little more polished but still kind of vary in style, and the two earlier albums are more Alex G-coded. All good stuff and relatively short listens, too!
That Against Me! album just wasn’t really jiving with where I was at musically back when it came out, so despite its importance I never really got into it. Gonna have to give it another run sometime
I'm glad a handful of people dug claire rousay, it probably would've been more appropriate to do one of her songs with vocals/spoken word/sampled voicemails but there's a lot to choose from so I had to go with my gut.
I should try her non-instrumental stuff again. The auto-tune kind of took me out, but I really enjoyed the song you submitted.
Sorry, late to seeing the results and someone ask about Placebo’s Discography. The first 2 albums are my favourite (the ones I have on vinyl) as they have a couple of the hits on, like ‘Pure Morning’ and ‘every you every me’ on the second album. I would say the rest of the Discography is all very familiar, don’t think they have really deviate from their sound, which for me I like. But ‘Sleeping with ghosts’ from 2003 gets a special mention, as this is when I started delving in. This album has some covers on the bonus disc, ‘Where is My mind’ and ‘Running up that hill’ are some of my favourite covers of all time.
Yeah this one felt like it flew by. Maybe it was because of the holidays? Also feel like we didn’t really have any extensions this time too
