I wish I had more time to find something more fitting for the kitsch round but it is what it is lol

 

Prominent sample as in it is easy to recognise in the song it is used in? Or if not that, what then?

 

I was thinking more along the lines of a sample that's used prominently throughout the song. I don't care if I recognize it right away; if anything, I think it would be interesting for people to name what song it's sampling when they submit so listeners can check that out if they want. Just my two cents

 

Yeah, I read it as the song itself prominently has a sample used, whatever that sample may be

 

I have so many picks in mind for the sample round, will be tough to settle on one

Yep, intimate amount of choices so I'm trying to think of something that would stand out for one reason or another

So, 80s pop classics = good. A track from the greatest hip hop album of all time = bad. Noted.

Great song, but kitsch? Why?

 

My song isn't doing terribly, but I expected it to do better.

Also, "Call Me Maybe" is a certified banger, not kitsch.
